    M813 rear wheel seals

Yep, the notch in the end of the spindle is where a lot of leaks show up, because it wasn't properly done. In my experience, the best thing to do is clean that notch up good with a degreaser, after everything is set with the outer seal, and pump silicone seal in there (just enough to seal up...

VIC-1 light not on? Here is the bulb you need

I have thousands of NOS incandescent lamps: industrial, automotive, electronic, aircraft, eTc. Most of 'em I'll donate a couple to members for postage. DG ps...I'm a bulb bigot, so NO LEDs.

    Farm Diesel

For red Diesel, I have a GI 600-gallon tank on a 1-1/2 ton trailer for hauling it home. They won't deliver to me for that quantity. I've never been stopped with that haul, but...If they do to test your truck fuel, and you have enough WMO in the tank and the diesel is now jet black, how can...

    Dualled M105A2 Project. Axle Narrowing?

A cut in the middle and a stout sleeve is the way to go. Done it many times, both to narrow and to extend. Old deuce or 5-ton axles are square tube, and are easier to mount in as they don't need a welded perch (just a locater hole in the tube and a bunch of bolts). I cut out the banjo with...

Overthinking things again - Grease - Wheel bearings

Just no moly grease. If it mixes with a small leak of gear oil, it will turn to a paste with little lube properties. Seen it happen. DG

    Tires

Better to stretch a tube than squeeze it on itself. I'd use a radial 16" one with lots of talcum powder to assure it doesn't bind up on the wheel. DG

    MEP-804B Single Phase Use Questions

Motors are inductive devices, and respond to voltage swings with increased amp draw if run undervoltage, and vice-versa. The bottom line is heat rise against horsepower demand. Stay within the specifications (i.e. service factor eTc) and they will have a long happy life. DG

    MEP-804B Single Phase Use Questions

Years ago in North America, 4160 was a popular distribution voltage, easily divided by a 10:1 ratio to 416. It sees use only in non-upgraded facilities here.

    MEP-804B Single Phase Use Questions

240/416 is an old designation. It should be adjustable to 277/480V via the regulator knob. Why Uncle Sam stuck with that I just can't understand. Kinda like 110/220V stuff...It doesn't exist in any US distribution system today. Well, maybe where Deliverance was filmed... Going from 3ph to...
