I see the same problem! If the main shaft was longer and a longer gusset was attached down to where the receiver is welded would make much stronger hitch. Great idea and looks good don't think it will hold up to a heavy load during a sudden stop!

If you are going to keep the truck, I would find a 900 series bed they look so much better and the bows and tarps are easier to find I believe.
