Just had my 1009 dropped off from last weeks auction bought it down at camp shelby its dark so no pics of the exterior yet but Im happy with it. No forklift damage and a few goodies left inside so heres a few pics. Does this radio equipment have a market I have sold the antenna stanchions and...
When we put one in the truck I mentioned we used the same type of expanding nut used in doors to hold mirrors on to bolt the dog house in. We made a wire and tac cloth form and used fiberglass mesh and resin to build the dog house its self then installed a heat shield blanket on the backside it...
One thing to remember too is a lot of those turbo'd engines that were sold on GL had cracked blocks or heads Hopefully who ever you bought it from has had it checked out as Kenny suggested start it in the can and see how it runs before installing it.
Your going to have to cut your firewall to make room for the turbo set up you can fab up a dog house like we did for a buddies truck when we dropped did I say dropped more like shoe horned one into his.
Looks like Im going to have to move the fenders out 2 1/2 inches on each side it doesnt look like a big deal the fenders are welded in in one whole unit. Looks like a cutting wheel to the welds and they can be moved out to make everything fit looks like a days work ahead of me.
The shelter will just fit its a bit under 48 inches wide there is enough room even in the A2 bed I measures it before buying the shelter. Greg if I decide not to use the side racks they are yours your right the crank dolly is great I have never seen the vertical ribs inside an A2 before like...
My 101A3 is finally home I bought it out of sparta a few weeks ago and Kenny had the time and room to go get it and store it for me thanks Kenny. I was surprised how nice it is I believe they had a generator mounted in it at one time the paint is still not worn off the floor. I have a set of...
I have bought numerous 6.2s in cans that were new rebuilds the tags said excessive blow by they never ran them in so the rings never had a chance to seat once run in they ran great no more blow by.
I use manual GP switch because in the summer your truck can get in that spot where its just warm enough the GPs wont actuate but the engine is just cool enough to be hard to start this is a bigger problem if your pump is tired.
Most of the engines they sold in this weeks auctions looked like the heads were replaced at one time or another thats a good thing because they have a tendency to crack between the valves. A pallet jack wont work under the engine cans ask me how I know that.
Can the unit be ran with the good pump pulling fuel from the tank instead of a outside fuel source if I take a line coming from the tank and attach it to the capped end of the working pump?
