I used to do it in the Army all the time. I would just tap the first battery in the series to get 12 volts for lights etc. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup? When uncle sam paid for the repairs it was not a problem but now I have to pay. I did not have any problems when doing...
That one looks great at a good price. The one on Ebay was relisted at $900 but it was only the ringmount with not mounts or cradle. I'll have to see how far the one you pointed out for me is.
It may be to far away. Thanks for pointing it out.
Chuck
I was a unit armorer among other things and what I wouldn't give to have access to all those parts again. I would probably take home an m-60 piece by piece. Or was it I did take home an m-60 piece by piece? I realy can't remember anymore. The glory days of full auto weapons and unlimited ammo. I...
Thanks for the insight. I don't "need" one just yet. I think I will wait for a deal. I don't plan on invading my neighbors place until at least spring so I have time to mobilize.
Thanks
Chuck
What is a fair price? Are they rare to find for sale or are the more common? This mount does not have the cradle. It was on ebay with a starting price of $1000 but this seemed like too much. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I can not remember the size of stencil we used to mark our bumpers and windshields on our deuces in the 101st Airborne. I think it was 1 inch for driver and vehicle commander on the windshield and 3 inch for the bumper markings. Can anyone verify this for me?
Thanks
Chuck
I saw where some folks have gotten Deuce insurance from Gulfway. I tried to google it with mixed results. Does anyone have a contact name and number or even just the number.
Thanks
Chuck
This is what I am worried about. It is good news that milspec1 did not have a problem with the paperwork itself only what was on the paper. The computer spits out the year for newer 17 digit vin numbers. The computer will not know anything about the older deuce VIN so I don't think it will...
I got a chance to check out my truck today. I really lucked out. Thanks for all the feedback about checking the fluids. Everything was fine. I will have to put in some lube in the front diff and the Radiator. I had trouble when I got to the master cylinder. Instead of the plug I expected to find...
The problem I was looking at is not a problem with getting the vehicle titled with an sf97. The problem comes in if the sf97 is not issued to me in my name. I was under the impression that the 97s are issued to GL then they do a dealer reasignment. The no title route is not one that can be...
Armada,
I liked yours because of being a cargo and being painted tan and looking like a desert storm vet. When I left for storm with the 18th airborne corp we did not have time to paint any of our vehicles. They were on ships a week after Iraq invaded. Think through it I will paint this one...
Follow the link below to the auction description. I did not have time to check it out before so I took a leap of faith. The only way I was going to be able to get one was by getting it cheap. $1500 was my budget for a project. I am apprehensive since this one went for much less then the other...
The only thing that will haunt me until it is all done is the fact that the lady made it a point to say that the SF97 needed to be made out to me. In fact, I think she said it twice. I would love to live in world where should be no problem ruled but in all my dealings with the government I have...
I spoke to one of the people at Secretary of State's headquarters in Lansing and she told me an sf97 issued to me will do to get the deuce registered but it seems like most of the time the SF is in GL's name. Anyone have any comments on their experience in Michigan?
Thanks
Chuck
I apprecite the responses. I am taking enough fluid to fill everything from empty. I plan on changing all the fluids so I bought enough to do it. I hope my topping off is minimal since I will be draining it all as soon as I get home. Thanks to all for the help.

I am taking a closer look at my deuce at DRMO at Selfridge in MI. I am going to evaluate towing or driving home when my euc gets approved. What tools do I need to bring to check all the fluids? I plan to check the trans, transfer case, all diffs, brake fluid, and oil. This thing was driven in so...
