i installed my pyro today. took it for a test drive to see how high the egt would get under high load. in 4th gear on a long steady incline, the egt was only 1050, shifted into 5th and the egt dropped back to 850. looks like i might be able to turn a flat or 2 more and still be safe. next...

there is a C turbo (the whistler), and a D turbo which is supposed to be more efficient.

you need to decrease fuel. i was being sarcastic. others had posted that they wanted their deuce to smoke. i ended up decreasing my fuel 10 flats. now that my pyro has arrived, i hope to adjust the fuel a little bit more.

my pyro showed up today. hopefully it will cool off a little bit so i can get it installed this weekend.

if you want it to smoke like a freight train ... turn your fuel up about 14 flats. or do a fdc bypass and dont touch the fuel :mrgreen:

what pyro is everyone using?

i backed the nut off 14 flats and the smoke cleared up completely. but the truck was very sluggish. added 4 more flats, now i have decent power and a little smoke. i will leave it there until i can get a pyro.

at 13 flats, does that put the fuel at roughly the factory setting? i dont mind the fuel being turned up a little.

im wondering if it is sucking oil from the turbo seeing how the intake side of the vanes have a oily type of film .

i started burning 50/50 wmo diesel. when it started smoking bad i switched to 100% diesel on my fill ups. there might me a 5 - 10 mix left in the tank.

the air filter appears clean( still white).

i ordered a 24-12 volt converter to handle cell phone and gps charging. also ordered a dynomax bullet muffler to appease the neighbors. also on the to do list is a spray in bedliner in the cab to help reduce some heat and engine noise.

your truck looks good just as it is. no way i would paint it.

i went for a saturday drive this am in the deuce. back to John Winslow's and got all of the parts for the heater. looks like i will be heading back in a couple of weeks for a tranny swap. syncros going out. i will have to hand it ti John, he stands behind his product.

i wanted the soft top. i might regret it later, but i know where i can get one if needed

thanks for all the compliments. for some reason i dont think it will be sitting still this weekend. i forgot how much fun it actually is to drive a vehicle instead of just sitting there and turning the wheel.

the 1100's were definitely worth the money. i was able to cruise down the interstate at 62 mph turning 2300 rpm. and it makes it look beefier too.:)
