There's a guy in Bremerton, WA (if memory serves) with a truck he's been parting out. It has handles all over. My truck does not have any of the common added weld-in tie-downs, so I'd like to add something to allow things to be died down in the cargo bed. Considering buying some handles and...
My truck had the same issue with the vend not hooking up to the master cylinder. I used a NAPA 204-3 to replace the broken fitting. If you haven't done it already, I highly recommend bleeding the brakes out.
You have some good advice here already, if you take a pic and include it in the next post it would help. If the tank is drained of fuel heating the plug with a torch will generally make it expand and crush the stuff making it stick. The idea is to heat it quickly, but not make it melt, so that...
I have a buddy here in OR that put 11x20 G177's on his deuce and he loves them. He said steering and handling improved over the NDT's. We have noticed that the tread has bumper the hex nuts on the bogie pin cap (don't know the proper name for it) just under the frame rails. I think pulling...
WOW! THAT is the military version of an old-school RAT ROD. I hope you take it to some car shows and use it in 4th July and Vet's Day parade; total eye=-grabber. Nice work!
They do sell chains that run across dual rear wheels. If you check with any heavy truck tire place they should have them.
I doubt you can run chains on 395's, at least on both rear axles. Even one axle seems to be pushing it as the clearance is so tight.
This is why some of us stick to...
Hello from Portland moriboy!
I recently bypassed my FDC and love it! I posted the details in the "Sticky: how to turn up fuel...in pictures?" thread. I did not touch the droop screw or main adjustment after bypassing the FDC. Hope to hear from someone with the details of what they did and...
I think there may have been a mixup here.
If you look at the design of the rear axles carefully, the gear oil in the differential can (and does) spill over through the axle housing tubes all the way to the end of the spindles (the round part on the end where the bearing engage). This oil...
Can you give a quick rundown of the mechanical problems you've had?
My observations. I purchased a truck that was rebuilt around '93 and I'm in-process of rebuilding all the brakes (linings are OK, but seals are all 20-ish years old), replacing wheel seals, rebacking bearings, etc. I think...
I can see why guys like the 5 ton trucks, but my poking around suggests they use quite a bit more fuel. The multi is also very forgiving of fuel, especially if you keep some diesel and blend.
I you are asking me, I bypassed my FDC and did not tweak the IP afterwards. Now it runs like the raped ape running circules around the scalded dog. I find that my EGT's are actually a little lower under typical circumstances. They can jump up, but I only see this in 5th runnign up grades or...
I just found the complete NAPA wheel cylinder UP 4119 at $35.49 on NAPA Online. The prices at the surplus places have been drifiting up also or offering the Chinese knock-offs at the old price. I'm willing to pay a bit more for stuff made in the USA. I'm planning to have some extra parts...
So does that correspond to improved mileage (reduced fuel consumption) or more power? The stock deuce filter is huge and bigger in comparison to some engines rated for far more power. Given the dinky turbo compressor side I just don't see the benefit. I don't have a problem with EGT's as it...
