You want to be careful about chemical compatibility though.
I used ETFE, if you search that you'll find the source and all of the part numbers. I found that 10 feet of 1/4 and 10 feet of 3/8 is enough to do most of it. Maybe 15 of 1/4 to do all.
I just posted a video on youtube. I used a GoPro and should have angled it down a bit more, but it works. I made a hand layout of all of the connections, but haven't converted it to electronic form yet.
I've been through a few rounds of pressure washing and fixing leaks. I've noticed crud, oil, and perhaps fuel inside the front drivers side frame rail and dripping off of it after each cleaning. Pic attached.
It seems like there's oil dribbling from between the frame rail and the steering...
I used the ETFE from McMaster:
1/4: 5583K46 with sleeve 50915K613 and ferrule 50915K243
3/8: 5583K48 with sleeve 50915K615 and ferrule 50915K245
It has great chemical resistance and easily rated for the temps and pressures in these lines. You can also see the fuel or air bubbles inside it.
I bypassed my FDC Saturday and posted a video of it on Youtube: http://youtu.be/P0p6Kp_h2mY
I'm not sure it is necessary to turn down the fuel after bypassing the FDC. I'm learnign when the temps go out of control and appreciate the extra power greatly.
My setup:
LDT-465 with C turbo that...
Me too! The extra power is amazing! I can pick up speed even in 5th on heavy grades. I made a video of it (the process) and will likely post it to Youtube. My EGT's are usually the same as before, yet can jump when running hard up long heavy grades in 5th High. EGT's back down to normal...
I have a similar issue that I've had since getting the truck. It fires right up and either idles real low (vibrating like crazy) or dies. I also notice a significant variance in drivability - sometimes it runs great with extra power and sometimes it's gutless. I slow a bit on light grades and...
I'm planning to bypass mine and document it step-by-step. My issue now if that the weather here is not cooperating. I'll likely post it in the "turning up the fuel in pictures" sticky thread so it's easy for people to find. Hopefully this weekend...
Yes, if you take a few minutes with the IP TM, it spells a lot of things out that are frequent questions here. I don't agree with beating people up about reading all of the TM's; however, the IP TM has some really good info and it's not huge like some of the others. CHeck out TM9-2910-226-34...
Sorry to hear that. 150 ft-lb is way too much. Crap that's more than a beefy big block chevy main stud! I recall the injector hold-down screws as about 1/4-20, so I would think something around 20-30 to be in the ballpark. I'm glad you didn't strip a thread or break a fastener in the hole...
I've replaced all of the fuel filters and they were OK anyway. I get good fuel flow if I turn on the lift pump and crack the bleeder valve on the primary or secondary filters. I'm planning bypass the FDC and see if that helps. I checked the injectors some time back and they spray great and...
