I think I know where the confusion is. GL has the wrong description on a truck. The M818 is a fifth wheel tractor/truck. I believe the OP is looking at the shop truck that has the fold up sides. I can't remember the designation. These trucks are not as common as 818's, and usually bring rather...
I mounted a 102" whip on my stock M1009 off the original bracket. I welded a plate on the bracket where the hole is for the military antenna, then attached the mounting ball to it. I do hit things with it, and it has held up fine. I am rather new to the CB world, so am still learning. I run a...
Before replacing your pinion seal, you may want to check to see if your vent is plugged. I have had the same issue on one axle after driving it 13 hrs to get it home. Have a new seal for it, but now it doesn't appear to have leaked since the long drive.
All this info gives me a lot to think about. It could also cost me a lot of money in the future ;)
Justin, you read my mind on the 20mm. I was wondering if it would be easier to swap a 20mm in to something like that, to make it easier to obtain ammo. At this point this is all just a dream, but...
Yeah, I am aware my license doesn't cover DD's. Depending on how they demilled, I may be able to reactivate on a form 1. However, I am wondering if any ever were imported with live guns that could just be transferred on a form 4. It's more of a standpoint of originality then really wanting to...
That is the model I was looking for. How hard is it to maintain and get parts for? What did they do to demill the main gun? Any problem areas I should know about if I were to buy one? 50mph just looks like an insane ride in it :D Your video just made it harder for me not to want one.
I can say a friend of mine bought a M813A1 that had signs of a previous ring mount, including a couple 50 bmg cases floating around the cab. His truck didn't have the reinforcement plate, and his cab shows no sign of stress. I would be curious to hear from someone who has run a F/A Mah Deuce for...
Saw a small British tank a while back, don't recall model, that was 8' wide, weight was about 7 tons. That would be more my style I believe. I am a class 2 manufacture, know about NFA stuff, but have never got in to destructive devices, so am unfamiliar with having a live gun on the tank.
I have really been thinking that some day I may take the plunge and buy a tank at some point. So I have some questions. First off I can't afford any of the ones that cost as much or more then my house. I see there are a number of options in the 70k and below range. Not saying I can afford that...
As far as I know the M66 was made for that set up, and ofcourse they were full auto and mounted on Deuces as well as 5 tons with the same cabs. Why would you think it wouldn't work? I do know the 909 series truck cabs are not approved for use with the M66 mount. I am guessing the cabs are not as...
Put tounges facing rear with jack up, tires on front trailer as far forward as possible, then rear one. You will be fine. I have done it twice now with M101's. Do take tarps off if they have them.
Very nice! I to would love to have a half track. It would look great on the trailer behind the M818, but I don't have the funds for one yet. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
