Well i finally did it. I got the dropside on today. No pun on the single handed , I get the metal pins out of my hand tomorrow so it was pretty much useless. As soon as i figure out the new digital camara i'll post the pics.
When i get to the last post, somtimes the message is blank . I can see where someone replied be there is nothing in the message block. If i try to reply it will not post my message. If the last post has print in the message block i can reply just fine. Do i have some setting off somewhere?
Could you use one of those load master cyl's? The ones when you apply the brakes, the tounge slides forward any applyes the hyd brakes. The master cyl is mounted on the tounge and they work pretty well. The tounge applys the same amount of pressure as the tow vehicle. It's all self contained...
I've had to run gasoline when i couldn't find diesel. It works, but it's not something i would like to do often. You do what you have to in a emergency. I sudjest you get a jerry can and keep it full of diesel. And if you have to use gas, then you can mix it with 5 gal of diesel. Your engine...

Mine is stamped on the passenger side frame just behind the front shock mount. I have seen them on the drivers side in the same place. On the I.D. tag on the dash, Is it still there?

Before you spend that kind of money. Make sure all the kingpins and tie rod ends are greased. If you have a bad u-joint in the knuckle it will also be hard to steer. After installing lockout hubs i can steer my truck with one hand. Ask Desert Rat, He has driven it.
