Extended Brake Lines for 2in Lift??

While the braided hoses do help pedal feel, I have had them rip apart. And get kinked. On the other hand, despite getting small logs wedged in rubber brake hoses, I haven't had one break yet. In other words, I like the braided hoses, but think we should give the old tried and true rubber hoses...

Not to worry, I'm used to having me and my vehicles laughed at. The reason for asking General Hood not to laugh too hard was due to his age.

You could call me, right before looking at the post.

If it doesn't rain (so I can paint) tomorrow, I'll post a pic...if you promise not to laugh too hard. By the way, now that both the steel and 'glass hood has been on and off a few times, I'm not convinced that the steel hood clears the clutch slave reservoir, either. Not without all four little...

Well, that strap may not be the best ring compressor I've seen. And even with a good one, you may have to use a pretty large hammer.

Or simply extend the actuating link accordingly.

It'll be a different 3-color pattern soon. I've started on that very poorly made and ill fitting fiberglass hood I bought a while back. First I need to decide on what to use for "mini scoops", to make room for the two things that won't fit under the hood. Yes, I had to cut two holes in the hood...

Mmm, FLU p*rn. By the way, are you putting bigger pistons in the SEE? The one in the background looks a bit larger than stock.

Almost ready to start pushing dirt now. Need to drill out the holes (don't laugh, I drilled two so far and it's a bi*#c) on the snow pusher to accept standard cutting edge bolts, then cut and weld two short Cat cutting edges to get the correct length and bolt spacing. Between the dozer blade...

FLU419 stuck in 4-wheel mode, not engaging in differential lock

The actual max air pressure seems to be all over the map on FLUs, so I guess that you could pretend that yours was set higher. Still, since turning the switch on and off should basically accomplish the same thing as adding air from an external source, you could sit in the seat and hope that the...

FLU419 stuck in 4-wheel mode, not engaging in differential lock

Sorry, I forgot all about checking diff locks today. Got caught up in a celebratory mode after removing a loader, removing a blade, and installing that blade, all without killing myself. Or even bleeding much. Anyway, I would be very hesitant to throw more pressure into the axle(s). Leaving the...

I'm happy to report that the SEE's bad visibility and heavier steering is at least partially restored. Used the crane to remove, move, and install the blade...and had to use the front suspension's lockout system to compress the front suspension. Otherwise the outriggers wouldn't quite clear the...

I'd suggest that you also bring eye protection and sun screen.

Extended Brake Lines for 2in Lift??

Not knowing if your current hoses are the OE length, the best may be to support the vehicle's frame on jack stands, letting the axle droop. Measure the available slack, then add a few inches for articulation. Is there enough length left for an additional two inches?

I have almost a dozen extinguishers in the garage, Ahab, so you don't need to bring one. Besides, I prefer Halon, Halonite, etc. as they don't make a mess.

You better not wait too much longer. I'm getting closer to having most of the SEE related stuff done. Of course, the actual operational part, which you may be most interested in, is about to start soon. Hopefully next week. In an ideal world, your visit would coincide with having someone here...

FLU419 stuck in 4-wheel mode, not engaging in differential lock

No, I can try the 4WD and locker functions while driving and turning. Not that I'd want to do it on dry pavement, of course. At least to me, it's very easy to tell if 4WD is engaged since the steering feels different and there are new (tire slipping) sounds and a different feel associated with...

1" zero rates and 32x12.50s... Any rubbing?

I agree with those who feel that the tires should fit, but to be sure, what are the actual dimensions of the tires in question? Since we know the size of the fender opening, and the width and offset of the wheels, the only missing numbers are those of the tire. With that knowledge and a tape...
