#1 Give napa a try on the headlight. #2 If you have turn signals you should have flashers. On the underside of the t/s lever there is a small tab, pull this out and push the t/s lever up past the right turn spot. Manuals are your friend.

What did you do regarding the intake pump? Are you sure that your getting sufficent fuel to the inj. pump?

Seems like the manual doesn't match the machine on a couple things. The mod might be part of that. There have been several good posts about this, do a search on mep 701a. I don't remember the specifics.
