RE: VERY Big winch ??? That winch is for the front of a M125, and for the rear of the 5 ton wreckers... It also fits in a special frame and is the recovery winch for the M123. I had 11 of them brand new a while back and sold em to folks who were making homemade wreckers and big outback style...

Never had to do one in 40 years... they should be all the same and then you adjust the linkage so the bearing has free play to about 2 inches of pedal travel...The fingers move as the disc wears, hence the need to adjust the free play in the pedal linkage... ACE

The mechanisms are replaceable and are different left to right.. Many of the folks here have them for sale... you can get new or used and replace them with simple hand tools... Take off the outer handle 2 screws, and the inner handle, one screw.. and try to operate the mech with a vise grip...

or use a nail in a variable speed drill and slowly turn the speedo input...to test speedo... Best to take cable off back of speedo and bring it out front so you can see it and take the truck for a ride and see if the cable is turning at the top end... sometimes the drive gear in the xfer case...

RE: Battery 4HN can replace the two 2HN in small engine applications...If fact I ran a Gasser Reo for a couple years on one of them...but not in extremely cold weather...
