A very similar engine was used in White/ Oliver tractors. The white tractor forums suggest about 4k hours before a loose sleeve or leaking injector. My understanding is that this kind of lifespan was pretty normal for tractors in the 1980s. You can buy sleeves which are larger in OD.

It is best to go to NAPA with the part numbers in-hand. I'll post tomorrow with the numbers.

I don't have the part numbers at hand but lots of the gaskets can be had from NAPA. I had the best luck making my own oil pan and valve cover gaskets from silicone sheet. Cheapest price were from "rubberman" on ebay.

Looks like I went home just when the party was getting going..... There were a lot of comments about how which alternator "knows" to charge which battery. In short, the alternators have NO idea what is attached. They simply try to maintain full output voltage until the internal impedance...

I torqued once per directions; it leaked. When it warms up and is time for an oil change I can retorque or try to find a rubber o-ring.
