There is a decent paper available online by D Lee entitled "Combustion Similations of Direct Injection Diesel Engine Having 'M' Thype Combustion Chamber" which outlines how the multifuel works.
A very similar engine was used in White/ Oliver tractors. The white tractor forums suggest about 4k hours before a loose sleeve or leaking injector. My understanding is that this kind of lifespan was pretty normal for tractors in the 1980s. You can buy sleeves which are larger in OD.
I haven't bought reo gaskets from NAPA for a few years. Used gaskets show up on ebay once in awhile but the cork gaskets are usually garbage. Not a big deal; just make your own from silicone sheet.

I don't have the part numbers at hand but lots of the gaskets can be had from NAPA. I had the best luck making my own oil pan and valve cover gaskets from silicone sheet. Cheapest price were from "rubberman" on ebay.
