Well, a 5-ton is a different animal than a duece. In your case, I'd go with either commercial rockhopper 22.5 singles like the 385 or 425 size, or the military 14.00-R20's in single. They are rated for more weight capacity than a dual set of 12.00's. (ie, the 425-radials are set for 11,500...
I'm interested in the truck if it is at all "out West".
And for Ryan; The Mack ENDT-673 is a simpler than the multifuel, just a lot bigger. No trickiness to it at all. Keep in mind it was a late 50's design, nothing electronic or complex.
Can you go back and redo the deal?
Didn't think...
1200.20's will fit a duece wheel fine, and I have never had any clearance problems.
The wheels are marked "Max tire size 12.00-20" from the factory.
There is no reason to run duals with them, a single 12.00 will hold up more than it's share of anything you could possibly put in a duece...
Now we know you are a closet rubber fetishist!
Thats OK, I have a lot of those big kinky rubber rings as well.

PS...do you really like the raised white letters?
Deere sells the 466, I-H does also. So they actually build it, big deal. Pleany of them out here with over 200K and not ANY of what you had to do had to be done. Hard, full bore road miles, short local delivery miles, any kind of miles.
I rest my case.
You want fries with that?

The only thing keeping it on is the pressure switch located next to it. It has either welded the contacts shut, lost local pressure, or came apart internally. It is a simple device made by Bendx or Midland, and is easily reparable.

Be aware of the facts concerning the Multifuel engines. They are ALL blessed with a design flaw in the lower end. I was at the huge USMC base in Barstow, Ca (Yermo) and saw at least a thousand LDT & LDS engines in a recovery yard laying on pallets. Each and every one had the center web blown...
Looks like this M37 has a Ranger (or something like it) overdrive unit installed ahead of the 4-speed accounting for the extra lever. The others are correctly described.

It is a standard SAE two-bolt mount and you can get pumps with plenty of capacioty for that job, the only problem might be clearance to shrouds & such.

An old trick to make a Diesel (or multifuel) pass a smog test is to run with mostly gas. It gets you past the particulate part easily.
Posted for the benefit of those with trucks with a later build date on their title. You did argue it was a '53, didn't you?

Multifuel horsepower ratings are truly of legend. Legend rather than reality. Keep in mind it is only 478 CI, has so-so compression, and if turboed it uses no aftercooler. 150 horse on a dyno would be truly inpressive.
Even the 1A from the 5-tons isn't anywhere near the Mack or Cummins in...
