Trango, do you have a body lift yours? I have 3 inches and will need a hair more to make this clear the floor boards unless I start chopping. I dont think a 12609 is any bigger than a 913 height wise but its goona be TIGHT even with 3 inches of body lift. I have too much work done to the insides...
Trango, be care full, when you swap gear clusters make sure the timing isues work out. If you dont mess up the splits you will have to give up a little bit of OD on the top...So you are goona use a nine? The 13 is only about 4 or 6 inches longer plus you get a bigger OD. With a nine I think you...
holly crap I have one of those that I forgot I had. I think this is the only way to fly. Too bad you did it, now I gottaa come up with some thing else......
Yes, your on the right track. I swapped the gear that is on the input shaft, this is the one driving the countershafts and put it on the 3rd gear spot. It is giving up your 3rd gear and making it an OD. So what is happening is, you SPEED UP your counter shafts making ALL of the gears a touch...
Just cought another part of tom's question. The fuller tranny is really two boxes in one. one is the stick and the other is the air switches. The front box, what we would think as the tranny, gets me .62. Then the power goes the the next box. this is what get you the "high/low" and the option to...
its 62 in the front box and and .86 or so in the rear box, my notes are all in the shop. it comes out to just a hair under 50%
It will take power but the huge splits make the truck seem like a dog. My first OD will be about like the factory one, my second will be .62 and the shird will be the...
Ok so in my quest for more gears and free power, I have been looking at trannys. Some of you may remember my RTO-613 plans. Well a 613 is more like a 15 speed with overlaping gears. They DO NOT split like a normal 13. Plus they are very weak and every one I talked to said a hot 5.9 would eat it...
RE: I am glad you are getting this off the gound.
YES! im almsot there. I am going to finish up my new wiring harness tonght. Ill get you guys an update later tonight. She might make the Hot Rod Power Tour this year
Hey guys, if there are any Members in the are that would like to stop by the HQ and check out our assortment of tanks and armored vehicles we will be hosting an open house 10 November 07.
We will have lunch and the vehicles on display and even tank rides in the afternoon.(limited run time). If...
Jeli, That is a slick idea but, the 900 5 toners use a much bigger drum/shoe. I would like to stick with the stock size just to keep things simple. This way all I need to replace is the backing plates.
Im not sure that is quite acurate. I used to swear that was the deal but I have a 5.9 on the shop floor with a number two. its about 18" inside. the LDT is closer to 19". I think the LDT might be something odd. the ring is #3 for sure on the tranny. What I was trying to do was use the adapter to...
Ok so maybe I am losing it but I typed with all up but some how I didnt get this on here. and its not in my past posts file. Ill try again, maybe I need to let the buring CARC fumes out of the shop.
Does any one know the company that used to or might still sell the Air Brake conversions? I...
Do you have an empty weight on the truck? Looks like a swiss army knife, I love it
Did you ever think of doing a "roll off"? We have a GMC Kodiak with a type of home made roll of container frame system. It is alot like a cable roll of rig but we used a winch up front. Then we can winch on a...
RE: Re: RE: Crewcab plan
AHHH NOOO!!!!!!!! I GOTTA HURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This crew cab thing finished or it will be out dated before I get it done. These dang tanks are getting me side tracked!
Hey jeli, use 3x3 square tube for the frame to build on 1 1/2 might get too light these things gt...
every thing has its problems. Bottom line is there is a bunch of stuff on a tank or even a car to get to work together. These were hard on motors and trany's. Just remember these babies were playing with the M-60 then the abrams.
