    M813 Recovery Problem! Help

    I ran a rubber fuel line from the fuel tank to the filter bypassing the selector switch to get mine home the rubber lines are bad or the selector switch its self is bad.

    I think it was around fourty five dollars for the base and filter plus the hose barbs.

    I fill the filter to the top and screw it to the base and have never had a air in lines issue.

    I went with the spin on for my 1008 took the fuel filter base off the stock bracket and bolted a NAPA 4309 base to it so I could use the stock mounting holes on the firewall then went with a NAPA 3123 fuel filter it has a water seperator drain on the bottom it has worked great so far.

    My wrecker was desert tan too it was a depot rebuild it had a lot of sun fade too the second picture is when I just got the truck the first is after I painted it. The third and fourth pics demonstrates the sunfaded paint as opposed to the fresh paint.

    Your trucks have a lot of sun fade they were much darker when freshly painted it is 686 tan CARC paint.

    No seals injector lines are compression fit just get them back on straight and if you cant turn them back onto the pump by hand be careful you might be cross threading them.

    Make sure your intake gaskets are for the J code engine.

    I have done it both ways removing the front cover and the other way going through the oil fill in the front cover not having to remove the cover.
