I had my 1009 picked up at camp beaureguard in louisana and when the friend of mine who was hauling the truck was on his way down I sent him the auction pics. In my email to him I requested he check the truck out before it was loaded on his trailer I had pics showing all the lifting shackles and...
Just plug the connector into the gauge cluster all your changing is the idiot light senders to gauge senders on the engine they will plug right to the original wires.
You can use a stock gauge cluster from any 73-87 chevy truck but I believe the oil pressure gauge in the 73-75 trucks is mechanical which in my opinion is the better way to go. Remember when you convert to gauges the sending units on the donor truck have to be used because the ones on the 6.2...
I helped a friend put a deuce cargo bed on an 818 he had it shipped to his farm in panama he hauls produce down out of the mountains and jungle to the city and hauls supplies back to the farmers on the rewind. He started a business doing this now he has three deuces and a five ton doing this he...
When getting a SF-97 from GL your not able to apply for it until the truck has been removed from the site. You have to directly apply for the SF-97 yourself by entering the info on GLs website that way you have time to check the VIN yourself before entering it. After you enter your info the...
I just had a SF-97 from the GSA that was the wrong year wrong cylinder count and had two VIN numbers wrong. I called the office that issues the paper work and explained the situation two days a correct SF-97 arrived here.
If the state you bought the truck requires the sales tax be charged they will charge you right away and they will tax the buyers premium too.Look on your invoice it will be itemized with everything they charged you for.
Go to the junkyard and hunt down the chevy suburbans some of the better ones had rear heaters in them. They ran hoses from the cooling system along the underside of the truck to supply the heat. I have seen them use a blower on them for a rear defrost.
Got the 1009 picked up in pineville my friend hauling it says everythings still on it no pilferage thats a relief he says the truck is so nice it could have been driven up to me.
I have a real nice OE grey one sitting in the shop I take them off the trucks in my friends junkyard. Most good ones come from garage kept suburbans they stay pliable and are in great condition. I bought eight of them this year all are gone except this one either sold or put into CUCVs I have...
I have six extra gallons posted in the classifieds takes almost two gallons to do the whole truck undercarriage included and have a bit leftover for touch ups.
Sounds like fuel starvation when you start it the truck uses all the fuel in the lines and pump then after cranking for a while it recharges the fuel system and it will finally start.Your lines may be leaking down back into the fuel tank and it takes that long series of cranking to get the fuel...
Timing being off a bit can really make them hammer I had a 1009 you couldnt stand to be near it with the hood open until I backed the timing off a bit.
I have four of them they have AV plates on them for doing parades and some local driving. If you want to plate it for driving all the time or hauling with it go with the MF plate which is a mileage F plate. The plate is 240 dollars and you get to drive it 6000 miles or less per year before you...
