The M211/M135 ran a dual output transfer case behind an automatic transmission. I believe the CCKW was the same, but with a manual trans.

The brakes are a common issue on that truck. There is plenty of information on fixing them, but depending on where it stands, a full rebuild of the system wouldn't be a bad idea. That way you will know it's good to go.
Makes sense. I wasn't sure if the hitch mounted I'm the bed of the 2.5 ton M1078 would be higher that mounted on top of the frame rails of the 5 ton M1088. My thought was that losing the bed thickness might shave some height.
I believe that brakes and lights would be best done with a 12v/24v converter and use the electric trailer brakes.
As far as the hitch issue, would the tractor version of the lmtv be an option? Or the same hitch height issue? If low enough, then would tires clear the trailer in a turn?
Thank you, but sadly its just a defective memory. It saves all sorts of random information, but never what I really need. (Like what it was that I was going into the store for in the first place. Haha.) Ironically, i don't even own that series of truck.
