Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

One more thing...I "believe" the intake/exhaust studs go into the water jacket so inspect them carefully for signs of leakage and remove and reseal any leaking studs. I like aviation permatex myself. I had a few that were leaking. It is much easier to deal with it now than have to remove the...

Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

To the OP, Some other things just to make it brief. Pretty straight forward job. The worst part is removal and install of the intake/exhaust manifold assemblies. They must come off and go on together and 90% of the nuts are hand wrench work with lock nuts so patience is a virtue... Other than...

Funny I red a thread here saying that so I went on eBay looking for the Snap on one and was lucky. I will PM you if I find another one.

Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

M 4276A The space is exactly as it appears n the wrench/socket. I do not believe Snap On makes it anymore as I could not find it in their catalog but then again I'm special needs when it comes to search engines.

Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

Which locations ? It worked fine on mine. Just curious. I considered making one too but then found the Snap On one. It worked fine but I did have a bunch of stuff off the motor.

Weare NH Merrimack Valley Rally July

I cleared it with the club. I am not riding them on the grounds or taking them out of the enclosed trailer while on the grounds.. I am registered with NH DEP for using the trail system up the road.

Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

You will need an offset 7/8 crowfoot like socket. If your lucky you can find a used Snap On one on the bay.

    Loose belt, hard to start?

This is absolutely true however in the case of the CUCv , they were upgraded to a 24v started which draws alot less amperage than the 12v civilian counterpart starter that the 6.2 was designed around. In most cases a CUCv can start fine on weaker batteries than the original 12v civilian design...

Another use for a Deuce...Bachelor Party...

The previous owner to the previous owner(does that even make sense ??) Put them in as he was a Boyscout troop leader and took the troop out in the Deuce alot. I am not sure if it is "entirely legal" as the dmv cops could bust ball I guess saying it need to be registered as a school bus but...

    Loose belt, hard to start?

You are looking at it backwards. You think your belts squealing is a cause of the hard starting. It's not, it's the result. When the truck is starting hard you are draining the batteries hence when it starts the alts are in full output putting more strain on a very poorly designed belt system...

Another use for a Deuce...Bachelor Party...

My neighbor had a bachelor party that I Dj'ed. PG rated, no "entertainment" . I had Jr. with me so I couldn't get loaded(that sucked) so I took the groom to be and the rest of the guys on a trip around town in the Deuce. Luckily mine is equipped with 16 seat belts on the troop seats. It was fun...

So what exactly does the DLA agreement mean ?

I copied the parts I don't quite understand below. I get the jist of it that they can ask for property back and you are supposed to return it or give them who you sold it to but it doesn't really give any consequences other than having your account suspended. Say you bid on something, win it...

Weare NH Merrimack Valley Rally July

No go on the ramps. Deuce is way too high. Looks like I will be bringing the M1008. I still have more issues I'd like to address on the Deuce before a long trip. I look forward to the trail rides with A&H recon.

    Runaway multifuel 6/20/14

Autopsy performed yet ? I am curious to know if you lost any hard parts like I did. I don't think runaway is something we have to worry about under common use. More of a "I just worked on the IP and probably screwed it up" scenario. I see no reason to need a truck mounted system. Just have a...

LED headlight gripe of the day

I'm glad I saw this . I was gonna order two LED's for spares when my incandescents burn out but I think I will stick with Incandescent. I found the GE4800's for 18$ each without pigtails. This thread just reminded me to order them.

How do you secure your Deuce ?

I'm not in love with the fact that anyone can just jump in and drive it away. Has anyone wired in an ignition key ?I was also thinking of just using a Caterpiller Ghost key switch on the Batts...Or I suppose this would work too...:D
