Yes, I have questioned this also. I dont want to fabricate up a hitch, then show up and they say that I cant use my truck, but if I show up without a hitch at all, or try to show them a sketch of what I am going to use, they will dismiss me immediately.
I am trying to tow a 94 Mustang GT from riverside California to Tacoma Wa on a U-haul Tow dolly.
Just 1200 miles of I-5. I am half tempted to just take the stock Pintle hitch off, use a large chunk of angle iron, making use of the two big bolts that already exist for the stock hitch, and...
Ok, I am making preparations to tow with my truck. Im trying to do it inexpensively, but Im not sure how to determine weight ratings on a home grown job, and Im not sure what U-haul will require to prove its weight capacity.
The two most important requirements:
Must have 1-7/8" or 2"...
I just recently had to replace the window on my 75 C20, and that also involves pulling the wing window out. (My family has always called it a wing window, is that not correct?) I can say the job is not too bad, but having a second pair of hands helps A LOT! The window track is part of it, so...
I have just recently bought my truck, and all my standerd shifting experiance is with sports cars and japanise motorcycles, and one C20 with a 4 speed. I was taught that you do not ever ever EVER NEVER hold the clutch in at a light. This was pounded so hard into my head that when I drive with...
In Washington you have to have them look up the VIN, and find the last registered owner. They/you do your best to get a hold of the original owner, and get them to sign a lack of interest form or whatever its called. Then they print off a good title. If you cannot get a hold of the owner...
Thank you all for your clear and helpful responses. I doubt I will be able to convince my grandfather of this either way, but at least now I understand it well enough to attempt. I also have added a few items to my shopping list, thank you all!
Depending on the paint condition of the car, I also think you might consider having it shipped or put your things in a trailer and the car in the truck at a loading dock.
Towing a car like that one just has a high likely-hood of damage to paint, damage loading and unloading, ect. =/...
Looking for the specific difference between "Split Rings" and "Split Rims/Widowmaker"
(Not sure if this should be under Deuce or Safety)
About a year and a half ago I picked up a 1980 C20 for $150 from a GI on Fort Lewis. I brought it over to the folks house to work on it and my grandfather...
Myself and the movie star truck will be there, but with a lack of functional lights and a motor oil leak.
Phil will be fallowing me there, to draw attention from all the failed lights, lack of registration, plate, ect.
Scott! About a year ago you let me drive your truck around a bit. I wanted to give you the finger for giving me a full on OD Infection! Lol.
I ended up breaking up with the girl that came with me that day, which meant all of the sudden I had money again. I saved and schemed and worked two...
Thanks all, the signals are made in a cluster, and I assume made with the resisters specifically for a 12v motorcycle system. For some reason I thought that LEDs didn't care much between 6v or 110v. I was mistaken, thanks all!
Ok, really simple question. Would Leds designed for use on a 12 volt motorcycle care if they are run on 24 volts?
My truck had the original turn signals removed and big bad spot lights put in the place of the turn signals. I like the spot lights and have some motorcycle LED turn signals...
