    Have 1986 M1009 w/low miles and what appears to be original brakes. Replaced back shoes, wheel cylinders and parts kit. Shoes were worn down almost to metal. Hers my question. With hydraulic setup on M1009. Do back brakes wear out faster? Almost positive fronts have not been replaced...

    anyone know why military used silicone brake fluid in M1009? should i stay w/mil spec fluid? what gains do i get by sticking with it vs. going to regular fluid? :oops:

    Exhaust gases coming through tailgate. Son and I engineered seal from home insulation and duct tape. Stopped gasses from entering. Anyone been down this road? Looking for more professional solution. Large gap to fill. Chevy must have received many complaints?
