    Who for insurance?

I use Condon & Skelly, they've been great but ya gotta have your stuff stored in a locked building and of course there is the mileage limitation which is no problem.

    Deuces on GL

Elwenil, my '67 Kaiser M109A3 shop van had them on the bottom, but my '67 Kaiser m35A2 had them on the top. Neither of them were winch trucks.

Funny you should mention that Kenny, our pull sled operator has asked me to bring the M816 to one of the pulls and do an exhibition run LOL

    Pictures of Barstow Truck Parts

BTP is an awesome place. Jones is right, winter trips are best down there, even still it gets warm. Don't forget about the SNAKES! For a long time they really didn't even want to deal with us collectors, but seems they are figuring out that we're a good source of income. Like DJfreema said their...

    Leaking oil filters at base

I'll take several sets of them adapters, and know a bunch of other folks that would as well!! Thanks to Devilman 96 for posting the P/N on that filter. I was able to cross reference the number and get the specs(I have the Baldwin program on my computer) The Napa/WIX 1458 = Baldwin BT124, The OD...

    LOOKING for an M-725

Jim, Ellicott FD used to have one sitting behind the fire station. Straight out HWY 94 past Dragonland, Mel may have already got it, I know he got a lot of stuff from them before. It was still there 4 years ago, and I did see it running before, a real guly faded red.

    Wheel studs

Might have to soak the hell out of them with penetrating oil, might take several days, who knows how long they've been sitting there rusting themselves into place. I know my 5 ton tractor had so much paint on the threads that I had to take the needle scaler and chip the paint off all the threads...

    GMC dump pics

That looks great, don't see those too often. I've got some pics of one that shows up at our meets but the owner is never aroun it so never have met the guy.

    Air vac rebuild????

Bjorn is right, shouldn't take more than a few hours and the majority of that is in removing it from the truck itself. Use lots of the silicone brake fluid in the rebuilding process, coat everything nice and good is what I was tuaght and have had no problems after rebuilding them.

    Deuce Parts - EBAY SCAM

Wow, I've won several items from him and no problems. Slow shipping on one item but always got them. Sorry to hear that.

Do you need a working in tank FUEL pump??

Someone on the MV list talked with this company about five years ago and they weren't willing to do any civilian sales for less than $475 each. Things may have changed since then.

    front spring opinions

Deaver doesn't have one ton chevy springs in stock anymore?? WTF?

A story with no REAL point, but involves a Deuce

If you don't have a heater kit installed it's easy enough just to reach in the side panel and pull the plunger back on the injection pump until you get a new cable.

Rockwell axle wheel studs and lugnuts?

I'd leave them left handed, most tire shops if you take the truck to them will expect them to be. Pretty much standard on anything bigger than a 1 ton even today. Our F650's all the way up to our Kenworths have them. Besides, for studs, inner and outer lug nuts your probably looking at $100 plus...

    5 ton Turbo

Which is a VERY bad thing as this will cause a runaway engine if it's leaking bad enough. We know for a fact that diesel engines will run on engine oil. If the leak is bad enough it will run on the oil until every last drop that can be picked up by the oil pump is pushed through the turbo.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

I've bought parts trucks that were more complete than that. Heck I've got two very nice complete running multifuelers here in super shape for $4500 each, shipping would be a bit much though. Like everyone said, check Ebay, some nice trucks pop up in your area often.

Can a "D" Turbo be made to whistle?

Silencer rings are pretty much just a Dodge Cummins thing (but not solely). They were installed to lower noise emissions for the EPA. I'll never forget the day my buddy bought his '01 Dodge, we ripped the silencer ring and air cleaner off in the parking lot before we left and handed them to the...
