If you look at the circuit, you will see that the "stop" command is sent to a solenoid that interrupts the run mode, and also interrupts its own power. When the switch is turned to the on position, the off solenoid is powered out of the notch in the cam on the main motor drive. If you remove the...
What condition are your batteries in? I am not being a smart alec.
The reason I ask is that if you have a battery going bad, or has a short in a cell it can pull the system voltage down like a resistor. I would also check your electrolyte levels as a low cell can reduce conductivity even if the...
The wiring diagram for the wiper circuit is the apparently the same for the M1009 and the civvy version with the addition of suippresors to minimize electrical noise on the communications systems.
What this means is that once the wipers are engaged, the power to operate them is continuous...
Is it vinyl or canvas??? Makes a big difference.
You can find paint that will adhere to Vinyl.
Canvas is dyed and does not lend itself to having its color changed without being dyed, at least that is my understanding.

Mike, I am assuming you are using a flare nut wrench on these fittings.
It is almost impossible to loosen an old flare nut with a regular wrench.
The rest of the advice is sage and the way to go, and I would do the same myself.

I look at the deuce as a moment in time about 50 years ago. Doubtless there have been improvements made to this day in terms of materials and parts for these trucks, but somehow the simple techology seems to work well just as it was designed.
If I could not locate some cork, yeah, I would...
Wheel cylinders are usually in icrements of 1/8th inch. You can replace the cups and possibly the dust seals at Napa, especially if you get a good counter man. Bring all of the parts in to compare.

The deuce was built with a "SINGLE CIRCUIT" brake system. In simple english, the brakes have one system where a single piston creates the pressure to operate the brakes. All modern cars have multiple brake systems. The reason is that if you have a failure of a brake line, or caliper or wheel...
same problem working on soluttion
I agree wholeheartedly with BADGMC56. I had a similiar problem with my deuce last year. This issue will be aggravated in the heat. I checked all my brakes and unless you literally set them on fire you should be fine.
I initially rebuilt my master cylinder...
A very good friend of mine served in SE Asia in 66-68. He was in Army Intelligence and was based in Laos, and tells stories of the trips he made other areas. He has ridden with me in the deuce, on a long trip of 330 miles so he is a GOOD friend, and he remembered the Multifuels they had and...
the TM for mounting a bridge classification plate is in the resources section. It explains how to and where to mount the plate. The tm is TB 43-0147 para 2-5

I have pulled studs in with a good impact gun. As far as getting them out, you need to thread the lug nut on the length of the nut so the stud does not stick out, but you have engaged most all of the threads in the nut. I would use a steel block, or chunk on the end of the stud to take the...
lubricity
Add one ounce of 2 cycle outboard motor oil to 3 gallons of fuel and it restores the lubricity that Diesel used to have before they cut the sulfur out of it.
I have a study I can forward to anyone that asks that offers in depth analysis of the different fuel additives.
I always...
BLACK HELICOPTERS....BLACK DEUCES....BLACK SUBMARINES....BLACK AIRPLANES......probably BLACK TANKS....who knows what else?
I am getting a little worried about DARPA and what they have actually built into these trucks.....

I would have gotten my adapter out and taken a photo, but it is freakin cold here (25 degrees) and I just could not bring myself to go outside and get it.
