Which is the Hardest Bolt or Nut to remove from the Deuce?

Steering box wasn't too bad for me, did it at a rally last year. But knew I had to jack the engine up first. Think I took the bolt loose to the radiator, then front mount bolts, then a jack under the front motor plate. Worst one for me was air piston cylinder nut, on transfer case, while in...

    Anyone previewed trucks at wright-pat?

Fixed it so it is a preview question, not a posting of current auction. Auction Postings: Please abide by the following rules concerning the posting of auction information in the forums: • Do NOT post about future or current GL/GSA/eBay (including items for sale in buy-it-now...

    Lower radiator hose

I would avoid the napa hoses. They can and do work, with some trimming, but are not bent right. If you do use one, be sure that it is not touching anything, that will eventually cause a leak. Also removing the lower alternator bracket and alternator will make it much easier to install. The...

    Multifuel Engine "Skipping"

Takes a 50-100 mile drive to get the mulitfuel cleaned out and running. Of the trucks I've driven, they run best when run hard and long. Both of mine can be real dogs until taken on a long trip. Gimpy's truck had the hunting at idle problem, it went away after a couple of long trips.

Possible to use 9.00-20 tubes for 11.00-20 tires?

Just picked up 10 10-20 tubes at a local tire place for 24.50 each. Cheapest I found internet or locally. Been using 10-20 tubes in the 11-20 tires on the M35 for about 3 years. Noticed the other day a tire has a slow leak, don't know if it's the tube yet.

    Major Meltdown!! :(

Hehe... I have a new, not rebuilt, 93 motor in the M108. M35 has a 86 engine, not rebuilt. I'm of the opionon the rebuilt motors are a crapshoot. Figure most are okay, but I'm sure a lot were not rebuilt properly. Sorry to hear about the blow up. I'm over towards mansfield, let me know if...

    Chains vs. Singles

There is not a whole lot of difference between singles and duals. Singles are a little better, but you would have a hard time finding a spot that singles made it through and duals didn't. Chains make a world of difference, on singles or duals.

    Moving oil via convection

Ditto on the 55 gallon drum. With the heater in the bottom, there is a lot of oil movement.

New to me Winch - Inspection

Hey, at least I try! What's bad is I broke the shear pin, and now the shaft is galled up. So need to pull the winch and fix it. Note to self, lube the shaft where the shear pin is. Also going to put some seals in it.

Turned 16, so time to drive!

Just a note, don't park on the snow pile and leave it there. Deuces have a way of sinking into snow piles, and becoming stuck. I found this out the hard way, and spent hour and half digging out the deuce with the tractor/loader. It's really refreshing to see someone that's 16 come on here...

Why do people bash the CUCV?

Because it's a diesel blazer/pickup. I really don't think of them as MV's, they were not designed for the military. I would own one, just don't expect it to be a heavy duty MV.
