You can put a switch in the middle of the blue wire to disable the glow plugs...
BUT.. ether is very bad to use in a 6.2 regardless. They dont like it at all.
If you really feel you need a starting aid, use Pure Silicone Spray... Much gentler on the engine, and is glow plugs safe.

Great prices on 'simple' transfer switches. I prefer these... so I dont have to pick and choose which circuit I might want.
tj, there is a recent discussion on this. Synopsis is, there is a temp switch somewhere that provides power to the green? wires at the injection pump. trace the wires back, and you can find the switch.

The CUCV actually has some sort of conversion circuit for the tach wire in the diagnostic plug. I had at one point meant to dig out an old tach, and attempt to connect it to that wire... and see what happens.
I would have to imagine, that they converted the signal to something pretty standard...
Keep in mind, its not a GL request for this verification. They are doing their job of making sure you have the proper documentation in order... so that it doesnt get bounced farther down the line.
