List your reason behind your MV

I missed driving the freightliner and the M35A3 came up. It rides like the freightliner, sounds better than the freightliner and it doesn't get stuck in mud puddles. And It was cheaper than a new 4 wheeler thingy. CUCVs are handy around the farm.

    MV Code of Conduct

To the 10%, PLEASE consider you are driving the equivalent of a car crushing, all wheel drive monster truck in the eyes of the general public. If the public drives like a$$*^%#s and cuts you off or whatever, just remember, they're stuck in their little box they don't get to have the fun you...

    MV Code of Conduct

Yup,every time I drive A3 I realize it isn't a Sirocco or a Porsche or Lexus or a Ccorolla or whatever the prevailing trendy speedster is at the time, I am operating a vehicle that will cause great damage and hurt if operated in any other fashion than courteous, safe, forgiving, thoughtful and...

    Find the right Deuce

Make friends on the site here. Go to events listed here and look at MV's. Ask lots of questions even if you think it's a dumb question. Check out MVs that are out there. I bought my duece and then found this site. It was just dumb luck that I got a duece that has been near trouble free. I...

re-wiring my MEP-004a for different voltages, including single phase

Thanks for the explain! For a 3 phase machine, does it have 3 windings 120 degrees apart to make 3 phase and for single phase the machine has one winding to make the sine wave up then down for 180 degrees each side of 0? I understand that on an electric motor there are more than just 2 coils...

re-wiring my MEP-004a for different voltages, including single phase

Gotcha, Thanks for the advice! 003 seems to make much more sense to run a smaller unit nearer to capacity with minor intermittent overload. I became aware of the phase conversion on one of these threads. Does the 003 have a need for phase conversion? I see them listed as 3 phase as well as...

re-wiring my MEP-004a for different voltages, including single phase

Ok, I have been followiong these threads and found them fascinating. My wuestions are: Since these units make 3 phase, does the conversion separate the legs into 1-2 and 2-3 to make single phase exclusively? does it make nonsense to use an oo4 as a backup for a house that may only use 4kw but...

    Spring PoofStock 2012

Good to see your back! Found it on mapquest! 53 miles away. Once I title, license, insure, do a full service, flush the tranny, 3-5 times, mount new tires on the front, install lockouts on the front and weld on the torque rod end irons, I might drove it a bit to events like this, maybe. Keep...

    new guy looking into a3's

I would bob an A2 whistler (C-turbo). That truck is more of a hot rod than the A3. I think the A3 is too slow to be much fun as a bob. Maybe with 4.90 gears it would be fun as a bob. 2 sets of gears instead of 3 so that's a considerable savings and you have some spare wheels. Thanks Dennis2cents

    new guy looking into a3's

yes not a n impressive showing for the A3. I think he should have deflated the tires to emergency setting, maybe done the tranny flush to get better shifting ( I have not done this yet but have heard on the forum that flushing makes it shift better) and then get it in low range and stand on that...

    new guy looking into a3's

Yes keep that fact in mind ass well, parts are pricey on the axles, CTIS parts, tranny parts, CAT parts and even the steering parts, brake parts and what ever else needs to be replaced such as the haldex air dryer filter. Yup to the above statement as well. I think the government may have...
