one more thing...
these manuals state "Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited" so I presume there is no coyright infringement. happy reading and thanks to all soldiers past present and future and thanks to Uncle Sam for everything!
and another thing....
In one of the posts a member stated that an air line in the area of the fan shroud or on the fan clutch failed and he ended up with a fan taking out the radiator so keep searchin and try to ge tinformed. Just sayin......
HI and Congrats.....
Here is a copy of a PM I received from SS member pacebm with the location of these manuals. Please send him a message and thank him. please give him rep power as he really helped and is a fine member. I think he is starting a sort of surplus resale business, any way ask...
I am totally enjoying My M35A3 but.....
I don't know if I would care to use the Duece every day in on-road traffic. It cool and it's tough but It don't stop exactly on a dime, it has blind spots and please read the previous thread : deuce and 10,000 pounds
I use my duece...
Jones'en for a drive!
I want to go for a drive in the Duece but the fuel gauge says E to 1/4 tank. Well you say fill it and I respond, here in WI I am waiting for the new HMV license to go into effect so I can put a plate and liabuty insurance on it and go to town to get a nice fix of fresh...
Hmm interesting!
I considered such an adaptation and reconsidered the "Inertia" electric controller I installed in a smaller pickup.
I hauled a M1008 on a 2500lb trailer behind a 2005 tundra, the littler one. Yes it was way over loaded but. the brakes worked 150% perfect.
I believe the...
Another Drive in the Duece.
Yet again the steel soldier is ready to be operated, the tires have not leaked down and it jumps to idle when the switches are activated. I am enjoying driving it every time I go out on "patrol" around the patch. We are getting bear sightings around the area so I...
30 some hours later...
And the tires are still up and at attention! YaY! the CTIS system is working. I bet I activated and shut off the system 3 drives ago prior to it completing its cycle and something deactivated prior to full seal.
I found manuals for the M35A3 and the CUCV so now I have...
24 volts to 12 vollts
A CUCV is a 83-86 1.25 ton 4x4 Chevy truck the Military used with numbers such as M1008, M1028 etc...
The resistor I am referring to is the big one aft of the engine, bolted to the firewall that steps down 24 volts to 12 volts to operate the glow plug circuit of the...
12 hours later and...
12 hours later and the tires are up and ready to rock! 8) I realizesd-suspect that I activated the CTIS and didn't allow it to fully cycle 2 triips ago and one of the somethings in the somewhere in there that governed that tire was stuck in the open position or was...
24 volts t 12 volts
Why not try a resistor bank from a CUCV glow plug circuit to operate your brake controller? I would run ground through the connector as well. I run a ground from the battery neg to the connector and connector the the chassis on the tow vehicle. The electric brakes I have...
Another Drive in the Duece.
I just got back from another run in the Duece. I was a little disheartened prior to the run because the right front tire was flat. I went and found a new 50 foot air hose and got a new glad hand and a nice Milton tire inflator head and assembled it into a nice new...
I just got from a little drive around the patch. Fireflies are out in force, ground and grass are wet from the rain of the last 2 days.
Those big knarly tires have grip but that truck will slide around a bit in the wet grass!:driver: I immediate thought how apropos, the phrase: "caution...
What would I do with an Mk47
Well it is rebuilt so I thought I could collect it and wait for the front part to become available and then buy that part.
Until then I thought just graft on a truck front like a cabover or conventional pete. Just use the rear 2 axles to drive and have a steer axle...
Thats a bum deal
I think I'll call them and tell them I can't in good conscious bid on any more stuff knowing that this type of thing can happen.
It leads me to question their bookkeeping!
I know my auctions-bids didn't amount to much in the scope of things but I spent 25 grand with them...
Ya I found a trailer and put a bid on it then got out bid and put bids on the other 2 and will probably get out bid on them. I guess I will maybe let them pass.
Thank you for this demonstration of a post that is drenched in focused , clear ,well thought out to the purpose-point of the discussion.
I saw a small picture and your post helped me see the bigger picture.
I am taking this as an example to illuminate me of more disciplined and focused...
Hmm, It still hurts!
I had a mog (for a short time)with a factory mounted central winch that fed out the front, tougher n **** that winch was though i never used it. A german guy made a cd on how to drive mogs and I had the orange one that was in that movie. that machine had central and diff...
