If you look into fuel filters for boats you will probably find what you want. They all have a condensation problem so being able to drain off water is SOP. There are different types , some spin the fuel to separate the water out.
Those were new front Dana 60 assys. If they were the ones with the posi, they might not have been a bad deal, since they were completely new and ready to drop in, with brakes even. GL is starting to get sneeky again, they are starting to take representative fotos again. They got into trouble...
The pintal swivel feature can help on rough roads, but really is for cross country usage (no road). There is a good amount of play in the pintal/lunette system so if you don't go off road the non rotating pintal/ball is just fine. If you are towing an M101 trailar and it is not heavily loaded...
The 12 bolt rims can take higher tire pressures without breaking a stud now and again. There must also be a reason that they changed the design on the 12 bolt rims to have the lug mounting holes on the flat outer wheel half instead of the inner as the 8 bolt wheels have.
I have a pair of good take outs. I think that there is an O ring, if I'm not mistaken, that makes the seal to the radiator. You might find that it is the problem.
I bought on of those Hydroboost rebuild kits off of E Bay. The guy is located in Tacoma Washington and uses the e bay name of 27d14. He is a very good guy to deal with. I have not installed it yet and actually just went to look for it and can't find the kit. :x
The glass plunger in the injector pump fuel return fitting I think is to even out any power pulses that the injector pump might sense from each injector. Fuel pressure from the injector fuel return lines affects injector pump timing and when the plunger is stuck it messes things up. I think the...
I had a similar , no power all of a sudden, problem and I fixed it on the side of the road with a pliers and a paper clip. You may not have the same problem, but you could easily check. There is a fuel return hose that brings fuel from the injectors to the top of the injector pump. The fitting...
There always seems to be a different assortment of things to be found in a surplus CUCV. Generally junk, but I have found a few good things. In one M1009 there were about twenty flat magnets which would normally be used in for a sign that would be placed on a door of a truck for advertising...
The radio mount that fits over the transfer case shifter positions the radio so it is above the shifter and tipped up, so you can see the face of the radio. The shifter that is used is modified from the normal type. It is bent differently so it dosen't go forward, but to the rear. I don't think...
You sould need to remove the idoit light sensor, which is an on/off tyoe sender and in that hole install a 2' pipe. Then onto this pipe you can install a Tee and on the tee, you would install the idiot light sender and the sender for your electric oil pressure gauge. You could also run a...
JJ, Are you looking for the cast iron exhaust manifolds or tuned tubular headers with a collector like on a muscle car or simple Hot rod type tubular headers? I have never seen tuned headers on a diesel and they may look way different to headers that are used on a gas engine. I would think the...
You may be able to pop off the fuse panel assy from the body and find an empty terminal. The flat bars on one side are fused and the other side is not and there is not just one bar to choose from. one may be straight from the battery and the other may only power up with the key turmed to acc or...
Warren, The Humvee 37x12.5 radials weigh 90 lbs. That tire mounted onto a military 12 bolt wheel with the radial type beadlock weighs 147 lbs. The Humvee wheels are 16.5" tall and don't have an internal bead at each rim like the 16" wheels do, so if you have a blow out the bead will separate...
Mangus580, Every M1009 I've had has had a skid plate back there. I thought it was part of the Military package. Ya, I guess using a cutting torch and arc welding near a fuel tank woulden't be a good idea. I don't think you'll have any problems the way the hitch is, but if it ever needs to come...
Why don't you whack off the part of the tube that extends forward of your box tube cross brace and then box it all in with a plate? Then if you are rear ended really badly, your hitch won't be likley to puncture your fuel tank. By the way, where is the skid plate for the fuel tank? George
That's a cleaner job than the military did on my M887 when they took it to Saudi Arabia. They used a Sawzall on the front part of the wheel wells and a sledge hammer for the rear part of the wheel wheels. The aluminum utility body was left untouched.
