RE: duece maintenance oddities Here's another one to look at. The tach cable ...on mine at least...doesn't have a zerk fitting. Make sure you take the cable out of the housing and give it a good lube.

RE: Tell me what I I f you are worried about what's goin' on inside, take the oil filter off and cut it open. Look between the pleats for any chunks of metal.

Ditto on the brake clean. It will wear off eventually.

Line-X is good stuff! I beat mine up. I have had heads, blocks, metal, wood, batteries, oil and all kinds of other stuff in the truck. I peeled up a small area on a lip and it will be fixed next week for free.,not bad for 2 1/2 years and 30K...warranty, gotta love it!

RE: belt Wrecker, get e new copper gasket for the pump mount and coat it with never sieze. It will make future adjustments easier. Tighten the bolts evenly so the clamp ring doesn't break. Use the torques in the book.

"marks truck" 'cause I took these when I went to p/u bboomerbootcamp's truck. Jakes are compression brakes. They bassically turn the engine into an air compressor and use the engine compression into braking power. If you were to buy a kit, it would cost a grand and about 6 to 8 hours to install...
