Argon would work too but it would take quite a huff to get it in there. CO2 definitly would be the easiest way to combat this. When I do ground hops I have a piece of plywood on the ready to block off air right at the turbo. FWIW I ground hop every engine I install.

A great number of years ago I stumbled across an M1009 on Ebay. The owner had taken the front of a cap and grafted in to an S318 shelter then chopped a hole in the front of the 318 to make a pass through. Was a blazer chalet made of all mil items. Wished I had saved pics.
What vehicle did you look up? If you want to be absolutely certain that you have the right parts, look up the GM numbers or NSN numbers in the parts TM and cross reference them with a websearch or use the parttarget site.
More often than not, its pump related. Next outing take some cold water along. If the problem replicates itself, dump the water on the IP. If it fires up in short order, shop for a rebuilder.
