Oh, I get it now. I thought we we worried about it dragging the mighty deuce down. I shoulda spent the extra 10 and got the lifetime warranty. Now that I have a core, a replacement is less than 40 bucks. I might be cheaper to get a spare alt than to replace the pulley.
I've already decided to...
How much power do we think the second alt is costing me? Not enough for me to notice while driving yet. Sure can't hurt the fuel mileage much.
I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking the 12 volt battery will stay pretty much topped off 90% of the time and the 12 volt alt won't be too much...
I listen cuz you ain't got no fancy book learnin', you gots real world, been there done that wouldn't even wear the t shirt exerperence.
Rat ain't answering my texts so he must be in his fancy school getting his 3rd or 4th degree or at one of his J O B s.
I'm on Christmas "stand down"...
Couldn't I just turn up the fuel until flames shoot out of the stack and fill the crankcase full of Lucas to overcome the tremendous drag of the second alt?
I think it turned into an advanced electrics discussion involving trains and Harry Potter about the time that DH's street cred was challenged and Rat4Spd realized the post count could top 100+.
As the OP I am simply here to inform everyone who cares that TM America's kit kicks ass and will...
I still like it - D E U C E
My NDT tire were fine, but I went with taller tires to lower the RPM at 50-55
My drum brakes work great. I try not to be going fast when I use them.
I had a problem with my original primary fuel filter coming loose so I switched everything to spin ons.
Single...
I think one battery will get it done. DIRTBAG is twice a year. That involves loading and unloading four times. We probably ride once or twice more per year, but don't use the deuce for this.
Right now I use a Warn 2000 lb ATV winch mounted on the front of my Yamaha Bruin 4 x 4. I ride up...
They posted in series, but I place 82.4% of the blame on the iPad and 9.3% of the blame on the pain meds I'm taking for my back. The rest of the blame falls directly on the guy driving the train - Harry Potter.
I have the 800 watt harbor freight genset that I picked up for 79 dollars. The blender for margaritas will get run no matter what. Because I bring this genset along, one of the four Jerry cans on my deuce is mix gas. Hope the thieves guess correctly or they might have trouble.

So back here in the real world-
I have three ATVs to load in the back of my deuce. I have a cheap 3000 pound winch to pull each one up a set of 11 foot ramps. It's dark because I stayed at DIRTBAG too long (probably to sober up for the drive home) so I have a couple 12 volt lights on. I might...
Rat4spd and I know a couple things about trains. Working for the railroad was the ONLY job our dad ever had, well except for those two years in Korea.
When I was 10 or 11 I "drove" a train with three engines, 19 cars and for some reason 2 cabooses. All of my brothers and sister got to drive...
Simple? My 14 year old soldier B needed help with -
Reaming the original pulley (after the drill press broke)
Tightening the 24 volt alt lower bolts
Finding a spot to safely use the pry bar to tighten the 12 volt alt
Installing the short (factory length) belt
So, yeah, I would say it's a...
I like the word deuce spelled the way it's supposed to be - d e u c e and proud.
Your deuce has plenty of mods on it. Unless it's a virgin M35. The only difference is some depot, motor pool or Army mech did them for you.
