Rat - those were prolly some of the nicest 109s I've ever seen GL pics of. Makes me feel all warm inside thinking about them.
I thought I would be fine with a 109 out of Barstow but ended up with a rusty roof. That's why I got a rusty roof shed and a M35A2 now.
Preview or have a fat wallet.
Will it fit in a USPS unlimited weight box? I have my old one here since I just installed TM Americas dual alt kit. One wire alt is the way to go, but if you're tight on bucks, I have this one.
With the arms and blades? I'll have to check it out. Though I'm guessing from recent other posts that I can get the 12 volts from eBay a lot faster.
12 or 24 volts don't matter to me. I have 9 open spots on the 12 volt fusebox I'm installing this morning.
They were running a LOT of trucks through Camp Dodge. Rat4Spd got a sweet truck there last year. I haven't watched anything selling in that area in awhile though. I would think it would be easier to get something from the east coast.
If you do end up with a truck near Barstow LMK and I'll...
The quotes I got were both over 400 dollars to bring a perfectly running and stopping 109 120 miles down from Barstow. Of course you'll get a milage discount but I can bet you'll be missing a gauge panel and haven't previewed to see if it would run, start or stop.
I would suggest you get...
I'm thinking about getting two 12 volt motors. One seller I talked to (there are many) can get me two kits shipped for about 95 dollars. I've seen 6 volt versions but not 24 volt. I'll be fine with the 12 volts and a toggle switch though.
I just ordered these:
West Coast Mirror Signal-Stat 7093 Heated - eBay (item 180546631175 end time Jan-10-11 06:20:04 PST)
Didn't ask if the were 12 or 24 volt since I have both systems.
After going out in the cold rain last week for that double rescue I quickly saw a need for heated...
I'll double check my routing. I followed the factory wiring and zip tied off to it.
And if you missed it in my post - I plan to hook the winch DIRECTLY to the battery. The ten gauge wire is to keep the battery topped off and to feed the soon to be installed fuse box which will have a few...
Not even close. I have the factory winch on front already. I'm installing a cheap azz HF 3,000 lb winch in the bed to help load ATVs a few times a year.
In this case the con of 24 volt is you can't get a 50 dollar 3,000 lb winch to pull ATVs up the ramps.
Should I spray it all flat black or leave it as is?
I painted the power strip tan and installed it pulling power from the voltmeter since the mailman didn't bring my fuse box.
Went to test it and it has a neon blue light in there somewhere! Now I gotta pull it apart and kill the light.
Since the other thread jumped the shark, ran off the rails, got silly stupid, I'm starting another ONLY to show some pics and to tell you how I wired it and why. If you have a better way please PM me. Please, no Harry Potter BS.
So at the suggestion of Rat4Spd (who I love like a brother) and...
They weren't tow straps. Most cheap tow straps have a 3-5000 lb working rate. I use military issue cargo "ratchet straps" because they have a 10,000 lbs rating and are easily adjustible. I have pulled and recovered many. many vehicles over the years with them. The problem was the hook opening...
