In my experiences, the difference between a pull from the rear shoes and from a front end problem is that when it pulls from the rear, the whole vehicle pulls to the side; as if it is pivoting on the rear tire; without any steering wheel pull. When you do correct for the pull with the steering...
All of the above advice is sound. I want to add one thing to check.
Besides checking tie rod ends for free play, you should check the wheel bearings and make sure they are not too loose. On a front hub with loose bearings the wheel may tend to travel straight when under normal motion, but...
There's leaking oil, which is uncommon and SLOBBER which is common.
The question is, how much do you idle the truck?
Multi's are not very happy idling and if idled a lot will exhibit SLOBBER.
Slobber occurs when the engine is not up to temperature and the fuel is not completely burned...
I used my deuce this fall to haul a load of "gravel" to fill in the potholes in my drive way.
I think it is cheating to use an excavator to unload by the way.
I got a full 4+ yard scoop. This stuff is screened bank gravel with some sand and rubble mixed in and it was very wet. I would...
It is possible the outer bearing is cocked slightly which would be enough to stop if from moving. Take a drift and a hammer and tap the inner race of the bearing all the way around the spindle and see if reseating it frees it up. Liberal use of a good penetratoing oil is a good idea at this...
Joseph;
It is most likely not tire size in my opinion. An easy way to tell is to drive on a non paved surface and if the rolling resistance goes away then you know that theory is true. If your truck still acts like you are holding the brake down then you have to move on with the diagnostic...
You can locate the air leak in your intake system by starting the truck. Then spray either carb cleaner or wd40 on all the gaskets and all the vacuum connections and any place where there is a gasket such as the carb base, and the intake manifold runner gasket to the head.. When the spray hits...
If your dash has the two speaker locations at the corners they are 3-1/2". If you happen to have the center location it should be a 6x9, but of that I am not totally sure. It is easy to remove the dash cover if need be to find out.

S280 is my choice
If I am not mistaken, the S280 is far more efficient with 2 inches of foam insulation if you try to heat or cool it. I can keep my S280 warm at 10 degrees outside with a 1500 watt heater. The heat loss conversion says that I should be good to about 0 degrees with that amount...
Head gaskets do not normally leak oil. It is very rare that they do. I would think you have a leal in a valve cover gasket or else the head gasket is "weeping" and maybe retorquing them would solve that. That is just time and little bit of work.
Changing to a gas engine is problematic in a...
Unless I am mistaken, the outer portion is a simple cam type of operator and is a complete unit. The inner portion is held in place with a couple of snap rings and will not come out unless you remove them. The only things you can lose are the screws themselves that hold the actuator on. I...
There are six or eight screws that hold the center operator on the hub. If you remove the outside part you can see if the rotating part of the hub is working as it should pushing in, and then coming back out. All a hub selector does is push a sliding gear into engagement with the spine. This...
Hi; Regarding questions 1,2,4,5
I believe the front diff on the 1009 is a dana 44.
Summit also has a identification chart to help to verify which front end you have.
You can use a new carrier with your old gears provided the carrier is designed to use the gears you have. gear depth is the...
My cable is not frozen due to rust, but due to water infiltration. Now, if I were to use my deuce only in the summer I would be fine. I do like taking it for a spin now and then in the winter so I had to replace my cable. Mine is the new style. The rubber jacket on the outside was falling...
Perfect cup holder and GI too!
My insulated cup fits the triangular area ain the gun rack perfectly and doubles the usefulness of the rifle rack. What self respecting deuce driver would accept his coffee being spilt all over. That is just a waste of good driver fuel.
Just my two cents worth...
pics of genset
Here is a collage of the pics I have at this point. The unit is 90 miles from my house so getting different pictures is not something I can just step outside and do....Let me know what this might be worth.
Pics are forthcoming, have patience and I will post them tomorrow. Unit is working well and is used occasionally for a camp for power. It is definitely 1943 from what I can tell. That would hopefully make it an MB engine.
Thanks so far I put up pics asap
Extra class here....There isn't much where I live on 70cm so I do not own one at this point. I have multiple 2 meter rigs and an hf/vhf radio.
I have two shelters with radio gear in them. I have an S250 with 3 2 meters, one 11 and one 10 meter radio, onboard batteries all of this mounted on a...
