    VIC 1 in the M37

Yes still 24 volt, I'm hooked to the first battery in the series, the one *closest* to the ground connection (that's very important!).. You can get a 24-> 12 volt converter, but I'm not running one. You should switch the batteries every now and then because you will end up putting one...

    VIC 1 in the M37

UPDATE: Built the first real prototype today.. The two round things are transformers, i didnt have any smaller ones, ill wait for the Digikey order to come in... the black box in the middle is a relay, two variable resistors on either side are for TX and RX levels... The black cable goes to...

    VIC 1 in the M37

since the speaker is just a speaker, and your not gonna be using it with a mixed 12/24 volt setup, the transformers will be most useful to make sure impedances are correct. If its just a speaker and a mic, id probably just try to make an adaptor and just run it to the other radio... Well its...

    VIC 1 in the M37

I'm not looking at the ls-671 schematic nor have I ever played with the vic4, but here is my experience with the vic1. Based on the OPCOM schematic, there are no amplifiers in the circuit, and the audio levels from the radios (rt524 for example) are on a fixed level. Actually the radio outputs...

Properly interfacing the VIC-1 or VIC-4 to a CB radio

Link ---> http://www.steelsoldiers.com/m37/68328-vic-1-m37.html I don't want to cross post so let me drop a bump in here about this topic in the m37 forum. I'm integrating OPCOMs circuit in my m37 with a vic1 had very good success with many different radios. More details there.

    VIC 1 in the M37

Update: I built OPCOM little circuit as noted above, and it works great. Had to use some parts laying around to prototype it and just see if it worked as well as it looked. I was able to interface 3 different radios. (I mean I tried it with three different radios, to make sure it was fine...

Advice before purchase neede please !

Good on the winch, not sure about the bolt sizes, mine doesn't have one, helped on them some though. Dunno for sure.. Also if you get new data plates ( which are cheap) you can always have WW (with winch) instead of WOW (without winch) to fool the moderately educated. Anyone smart will do more...

Advice before purchase neede please !

    1) on the frame rail behind the left front tire 2) usually the tire carrier on the drivers door, however these are also retrofitted on the earlier non-b1 models... additionally the NON-b1's usually had the tire in the bed. The data plate could also show, but ultimately the year and model...

    VIC 1 in the M37

Re: Noisy... hmmm "need it" . . well compared to the wife's Mercedes, oh yea its way loud, compared to a 5 ton, no not really. Its more about having access to the radio audio and an iPod input than anything else.. RE: Coils: yea i agree, this is a prototype, i got most of it from Steve Haney...

    VIC 1 in the M37

so im a radio geek, frankly the m37 is an ACCESSORY to the RT524 i restored, the truck was purchased so i can put the radio in it.. ;-) anyway, i installed the VIC1, and im sure its not *exactly* oem, but hey it looks good... here's what i did... Mine has a hardtop on it, so i had this as...

    Working on my cab

you got guts, i would walk away from that in a second, but i get your logic... then again, i've pulled radio's out of the bottom of drums filled with oil water and brought them back.. :-)

    M37 seat alternative choices?

I have mounted funny seats in a variety of vehicles, there is no reason you cant do it on the M37.. frankly if your planning on hard 4x4 stuff and want 5 point or even 4 point restrains, your gonna need better bucket type seats... there is the hillbilly way, then the "right" way... ive seen...

proper mounting location for the sugar scoop antenna bracket and standoff

well i winged it... I couldnt put it over the "knockout" as that would either cover up the tie down, or be too close to the top of the bed. there were two holes there already (for a handle?). It seemed the perfect location for it.. this is the MX6707 antenna for the RT524 series radios...

What is attached to the front of this M37?

the picture in the operators manual is actually one to raise the front end up for changing the tire.. so its not a stretch... to be honest this type of farmers crane is quite common here in bama.. we had one on a hummer when i was in the army...

What is attached to the front of this M37?

looks like a lift rig, there is a picture of one in some of the manuals to use in raising something else... like a small crane...

proper mounting location for the sugar scoop antenna bracket and standoff

anyone got the proper measurements to mount the antenna for the MX6707 (RT524) on the drivers side of the m37? i have the stand off, backing plate, and sugar scoop... but the "knockout" hole where the AB243 antenna usually is, seems incorrect for this.. its too close to the bed i think...

    MEP017a Fair Price to Buy?

Thanks for the input, i understand your points.. Regarding the ng, but the kit does exist and its available... I have a generic 3500xl, ive used for awhile.. Thought maybe a military genset would go well with my m37 :-) I trust the source of the set, (old friend) just want to be sure I'm...
