Let me see who I can get to go with me. It should be me and my NV4500 CUCV (still need to make the write up on the swap ;) ) Will bring wood and generator. I may have an M35 by then so we'll see....
I'll report back with the list of people attending with me.
Will
Good News! The swap has been completed for about three months now and it is amazing. Truck is a whole new animal. I'll post up more later....also will be able to answer questions for people who want to do the swap.

I did what they did here

- Shortened the bracket for more clearance because the flywheel is thicker. I cut about 3/4 an inch out and welded it back up so now...
Hello,
I have a slight problem with my Advance Adapters clutch slave cylinder bracket. First, I had to cut the tube part and half the length of it so the slave boot and hardware could even fit on. And the slave when compressed upon install, would constantly be putting pressure on the throwout...
I have a spare Jegs pilot bushing. It is made in USA - however it is slightly magnetic. It does appear to have leaked oil through the package so it definitely had oil. Is this safe to use on an NV4500 or should I get the supposedly good one from NAPA? And should it be oiled/soaked or greased?
Will
That is what I am worried about. Never had a problem with the bushings, and never used a bearing. Now I'm leaning towards bearing. I've also heard different stories on whether to oil or grease it or install dry. Any hints?

Hello all, Real quick question.
I'm installing an NV4500 into my stock M1028 with an Advance Adapters bellhousing. It comes with a pilot bearing, and so does the clutch kit. I have a new pilot bushing laying around, too. Which should I use? I've heard the pilot bearing is not as good because...
I normally do that but the clearance was smaller than usual, but it came out ok. The screw method works really well for small engine cranks seals...

Hello,
I am installing an NV4500 in my M1028, and am resealing the NP208 so as to not have any fluid mixing between the two. What is the best way to replace the input seal on the NP208 without tearing the entire thing apart? Or should I just destroy the old seal and press the new one in (aka...
Can't really say I was at the limiter, but foot to the floor low range spinning all fours... who even knows what I was at! I wasn't going to get stuck that easily.

I hear you there, I like that motto. Check your PM box.
RC really does a number on the CUCVs, I think more so than the other vehicles. My copilot and I had touched our heads to the top of the cab a few times me thinks...
Strange that the OD unit went crazy and that killed the engine. I was...
I know my .02 is just that...worth .02 but I wanted to chime in too. I think the communication with CB would be both helpful, and also fun (I know we have fun with it, probably to the annoyance of some others!) but they can really save some situations. I also like having us in one group - It...
Phew that was one **** of a weekend for you. Roasted trans and engine (I'm getting worried about mine now!)
What was the method of failure?
Hope you eventually made it home ok.
I know someone who might have a spare 6.2

I had a great time at Rausch this past weekend! Awesome people and collection of MVs, we have a really good group of guys (and ladies!) in this hobby. No damage to the truck and did some absolutely incredible things with the M1028 (Us CUCV owners have it tough out there....you 5 tonners just...
Still getting the M1028 all tuned up. New entire fuel system, new hydroboost lines, heater hoses, ORD steering brace (quality piece). Cant wait for this weekend.
I'll probably be there around 6 PM on Friday. See you guys then, I'll update if anything changes.
Should I bring my MEP-015?
Will...
Haha thanks - Yep I was going for the Detroit Diesel 2 Stroke look. If I ever pull the motor I'm painting the entire thing just like a factory DD 2 stroke.
Be careful with that camo engine, in the right environment, you might completely lose it ;)
It is still running like a champion, not even...
Update- Truck is running better than new! All new gaskets, lift pump, Accurate Diesel rebuilt IP, painted Detroit Diesel Alpine green. It starts, runs and sounds better than ever. More power too. I'd recommend this stuff for every CUCV owner, just due to age, these parts are all prone to fail...
This! Superior service, Tim is awesome and his communication is fantastic. Just sent mine out two weeks ago on your recommendation. Very fast - I think they rebuilt it in about 1 day, with a total of a week and a half turnaround because of shipping.
Stanadyne certified rebuild, they rebuilt and...
