I decided to install in the dash where the military radio mounting bracket was. The dash was already all hacked up here for the brackets and I didn't feel comfortable resizing the black plastic instrument cluster face plate -- it seems that all that plastic is old and brittle. Also, as...
Well, I've been avoiding this for some time now but I'm finally fed up with driving around without tunes. I picked up a standard sized Clarion AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB head unit on amazon for about $50. I hate to hack up my truck to install this thing in the conventional location, but that's about the...
Crawl over the back seat with a phillips screwdriver. There are about 15 screws holding a cover in place on the center ~2/3 of the tailgate. You'll have to take that off and do some exploring to figure out if you've got a broken clutch or not.
I would replace the fusible links with fusible links. These are designed to blow out and protect the rest of your electrical system -- which is a good thing.
All the parts are about $20-25 at NAPA. You'll just need some 12GA fusible link wire, 12-to-8GA step down butt connectors, and some...
What about water? Is there any concern with there being some condensation or other water in the oil?

I was thinking a slide hammer might be handy for getting that inner seal off... any reason not to use that? It will make a nice addition to my tool collection 8)
Good advice on that spring - I definitely don't want that getting into my bearings!
Personally, I would scuff them up with a scotchbrite pad and hit them with flat black Rustoleum spray paint. But that's just me :)
I recently did this with my stock M1009 wheels (except with wire cup/wheel brushs instead) and it turned out to be a lot more work than I expected, but I was...
Please pardon my mechanical ignorance here... but are there any tricks to removing the seal that holds in the inner wheel bearing? According to the TM, I need to remove the inner seal (18) but I'm not sure exactly how to do that.
In my picture I assume that #2 is the seal but #1 needs to come...
Excellent find! Obviously you've got better searching skills than me. I spent quite a bit of time searching the forums but must have gone past that thread based on its title.
