DIY bead locks are a BAD IDEA unless that is what you do for a living. The weekend warrior fabricator can get alot of people killed or hurt when it comes to bead locks. Glad to see you decided not to. Leave that kinds stuff to the professionals. Of course I dont know what you do for a living...
When I asked if you had changed out to larger tire combo I wasnt implying that it would change your pinion angle. Just going to larger tire combo like the Wrangler (old style hummer tire) would see you hard pressed to get those tires balanced if at all possible. They suck as far as in the...
Ive just started to notice some wierd Harmonics going on with my engine at stop lights. A vibration that wasnt there before. I will be changing out my Harmonic balancer when I get back. Ill let you know if that was my "vibration" issue.
First and foremost. Anytime you install a lift you should change out the U-Joints. They are cheap insurance and are pretty easy to install. Get the best ones for your application. IF you still have a vibration I would shim the rear axle. If one of those dont fix your problem then Im out of...
When Im talking about CUCVs comming on the market again I dont mean at EVERY single base. I travel all over the US and you definately see diffrent bases over the years have big lots. Its hard to tell where the next big sale will be at. You never saw them In Nevada and then all of a sudden about...
I see them all over on bases. Yes they are getting "OLD" but I believe in the next year or so there will be the next big push to replace there older stock with the newer stuff. Then it will be CUCV IIs.
The only problems I have seen lately with the CUCVs is how they are now being moved around...
Not taking sides but so far I have had excellent service from them. In fact I was on the phone with Steve today and he told me everything I need for a Doubler trans case to my new transmission. I hope your lift situation works out.

I do get a pretty good NAPA discount through my Snowcat Business. Im not sure though which ones I picked up. I didnt know there was a diffrence. I plan on changing them out some time next year before winter. Just to be on the safe side. I will be going thru my Glow plug system as well. I...
Each individual vehicle will be diffrent. Two trucks made on the same day side by side and driven the exact same amount of miles. Now they are sitting in your driveway. One may need a 5 degree shim while the other is just fine as is. Drive it and see how it does. If it has vibration then...
Look up TVGUY build thread. It should still be on the first page of the CUCV section. He did that as well as a whole bunch of other cool things to his M1031. He also installed a ORD kit.
As far as better ride it would make a HUGE diffrence. ORD does list a set for you if you want to go...
A Banks Turbo will gain you approx 60HP and 115 FT Lbs. You also get the side benefit of about 18% to 20% better fuel economy. That would be roughly 205 HP and 410 FT LBS conservatively. Those are some very nice figures for a 6.2 in a CUCV.
