Glad to see this. I will be replacing both of mine this spring. Have already bought the passenger side from Amazon. (Jegs) Funny thing is they don't have the drivers side on Amazon. Will be buying it directly from them i na day or two.
I found this and bought one on Amazon to see how it works. I'll let you know. Thanks for all the reply's.

My M1009 has pretty much stock everything I think. I try to keep it around 65 MPH but I have noticed I've crept up to 75 MPH on the highway. In all my other vehicles and motorcycle I have radar detector in them so I do have a little heavy foot sometimes. LOL
I just spent 15 minutes trying to get the diesel out of a yellow plastic can. Those stupid nozzles are about useless. What have others used to replace that stupid nozzle? I need to buy one that actually works.
Thanks
Hi if there were a HEMP would these internal parts be fried? I was told this is the only electronic part on the M1009 and would be good to have a spare in a Faraday cage?
Sorry newbie here. I'm going to be changing my oil in my M1009 soon. Is this the oil everyone is talking about?

Well I just had to replace all 3 belts on my M1009. One busted and figured I might as well get them all replaced at the same time. Since I've just had shoulder replacement surgery I was not able to do it myself. $180 for belts and labor. :(
I agree. Mine was installed when I bought it and I have started it without it being plugged in in the mid 20's but now after trying the heater I'll be plugging mine in if it's below 30 I think.
Hi All,
I have a 1986 M1009 and have had this problem only twice since I bought it in the last 3 months. The first time I was driving my CUCV and stopped for less than 5 minutes. When I came out and turned the ignition key the glow plugs did their thing like normal. But when I tried to engage...
Thanks all that replied. I really like the ammo can one but cucvrus yours looks easier to install. Like your seats too. I have to fix the right front brace on my passenger seat. It's not attached to the frame right and you get a really big lean backwards in it.
Hi All,
Something to remember if you have installed LED lights. If there ever were to be a major solar flair or a EMP those would be fried just like all other electronics. Just throwing that out there for you.
