I would check the Ground & the signal stat switch May have corrosion problem. Just went through this on M915A3 That was in an flood water Detroit Diesel S60 500Hp it was an mess Grounds & lots of dielectric grease to fight the problem. Can be in the cab wire connectors.

Yes that is very true looking at the plug that connect to the cluster left rail # 2 pin is hot for Curb side alt #2 24 V. also the gage has no contact alt 2 this alt Gage there is 10 amp fuse will go & you will loose 24 v gage to.
