    Deuce alternator showing overcharging

i think the sound of the whine is the typical sound alternators make when charging. something is making it go to fill charge. i would guess it is the voltage regulator is messing up. i know someplaces online you can get new ones, but it requires soldering the old one off and the new one on.

    Fender removal

definately take your time taking them off,if need be, tighten a little first sometimes helps break rust loose before you even start to loosen. then loosen a little and dont turn too much so you dont rip apart the captured nut. spray with lube, back and forth a little more, spray, repeat. if the...

    Totaled Deuce Gets Rebuilt

well last night i pulled both cylinder heads off to do the gaskets. turns out i had the newer style gaskets head gaskets on the truck. i think my real leak making the block oily was leaky manifold gaskets. then the fan blowing around just spreads out the mess. so they probably did not need to be...

thanks pat. I’m glad you are learning something from me tearing it down... i sure am! i guess one think i learned was you can always keep going farther and farther in to the teardown if you wanted to. for instance, when I pulled the cab off and saw how easy the transmission and transfer case is...

    Trany questions

its funny that this thread got brought up.... i just bought a set of synchros and gasket kit from kublos today. i figure since i have the cab off, it will be a sinch to get the transmission out. for the price of another used transmission or even using my trasmission (which is still good just...
