One word about your head bolt problem. Helicoil. It will fix you right up.
It must have cost a fortune to get it from Africa (where in Africa?) back to the Wisconsin.
Make sure it is aligned properly, too. Poor alignment can cause shimmy problems as well as a feeling the steering wants to dart off to the side when you turn.
JP8 or more commonly called "Jet A" will run fine in ANY diesel engine. It is especially good in very cold climates as it doesn't jell and starts quickly.
A Ma Deuce and an M-60? Pricey ain't the word. You can get a dummy M60 for about $2000. A real one would run ten times that. A semi auto M2 will easily run $3000. A full auto will go for $30,000.
If this is purely an economical decision, you would be better off renting a truck and hiring someone to deliver the die.
If this is an, "I want a deuce to play with when I'm not using it for business" decision, then by all means, get a deuce. Be prepared to do some work to them, after all...

Seems so. You only need much pressure and volume isn't too important. Put it on its own circuit and shut it off just before you crank the engine. Put a check valve inline in case you forget to turn it off. Heck, you could even put pressure switch in to shut it...
Take a picture of it with a digital camera outside to eliminate flash reflections. Use the "close in" function of your camera and then zoom in, too. The "close in" function usually has a flower icon.
