    Wheel Cylinders

The biggest pain is removing the wheels. Then remove the brake drum, the brake lines and the cylinder. You may be able to do it without removing the brakes. Piece of cake.

    New M35!!!!!

Well, as far as I know, there are no seat belts that would be "correct" for that vehicle. However, don't let that prevent you from being safe.

    Politics and The Hobby...

The electoral college is chosen by the side that receives the most votes in each state. If you don't think your vote counts, just go back to November 2000 when AL Gore tried to disqualify military absentee ballots in Florida and then tried to "count until he won" in hand selected counties in...

    Politics and The Hobby...

Ron Paul doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. The best we can do is to try to elect someone who believes that the individual is sovereign and not subservient to the state, i.e. DO NOT under any circumstances vote for someone who promises "free" anything to anybody. So far, a...

    New Member needs help!

Sloppy shifting has a lot to do with worn linkage pins and pin holes. After that, it is the forks inside the tranny.

    another electrical problem

It is probably something basic. Start with the main power switch wth good batteries or another vehicle for power. Most likely, you will find that there is no power on it. Head upstream and find the bad part or loose connection.

    Another Alternator problem

Start at the ignition switch and look for 24 volts on the wire from the battery. If it is there, turn the switch to ON and check for voltage on other terminals. From the sound of it, you may have fried the contacts on your switch.

Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything! Being somewhat of an "expert" on soldering, I'll give a few hints. First, NEVER, EVER use acid core solder or use an acid based flux for electrical connections. Acid core is okay to fix the radiator, but not the electrical...

Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!

Re: RE: Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything! Kind of what I figured. I guess my strategy will be to look them over and pick a few with the least rust, nicests cabs, and the cleanest engine compartments.

Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!

I counted something like 217 deuces being sold at GL at the same time of the Smyrna sale. I think I have a good chance at picking up one for a good price. I was looking at the ones with the winch and the lowest hours/miles. I didn't think about the cargo canvas but that would be a great thing...

Bad news, there will be no pre-auction previewing. The best they can do is preview on Sept 22 before the auction ends. I plan on going there on the 22nd so if you see anything on the GL site you like let me know.

    Electrical help

You can get a digital multimeter from Wallyworld or Radio Shack for less than 20 bucks. Make sure it has a 10 Amp setting. If you get it from Radio Shack, it may have some alligator clips with it. Hook the red lead up to the source and the black lead up to the pump wire. It sounds to me that...

Okay, since you guys are all just a bunch of friends, I would like to join in the club. I'll check out any vehicles in Smyrna for free. All I ask is that you send me a list of items you want checked and only the vehicles you REALLY want to know about. I enjoy looking, but please don't as for me...

Offering pre-auction inspection for GL M35A2's in Smyra, TN

First, I am not a military vehicle expert, but I am a pretty decent mechanic and know how to spot a potential problem. The vehicles in question are 75 M35A2's sitting at a NG unit less than 10 miles from my house. The inspection I am offering is to start the vehicle if I am allowed, check...
