Sorry about the loss! Look at it in a positive light though, at least you did not have your NOSE in the engine compartment when it went, while someone was cranking on it!
If you had clean undies before, you wouldn't after...
Uh, also, be advised that a single 5 gallon pail will NOT contain it all. Might want to drain the rear sump first, empty the pail, then drain the forward sump. Or drain the aft sump into a smaller bucket and use the pail to get the forward sump.
BTW: :grd:
Take mine out on the road for about an hour and then let it sit for an hour in the driveway. I usually get very little, if any spillage.
BTW, I do have plywood under her as she likes to 'leave her mark' anyway. This helps with any Uh-Ohs...
Well you could always fly out and attempt to drive it back. Just make sure you post the adventure and pics! Should make for some exciting reading for us!!!
:twisted: Yeah, thats the ticket, Drive it back, just for us!!!:twisted:
Seriously, trailer it...
I remember talking with a friend that used to weld in the old days. I THINK that you might be looking at a old Continental Engine. If I remeber correctly, they came in 4 and 6 cyl.. Hope that helps.
:shock:Uh, Its real bad when you tell them that and they just look at you. You know, the: deer caught in headlight, glassy eyed, eyebrows not up, look.:shock:
I then tell them its my hurricane truck and they go: Oh, good idea and a nice looking truck...Go Figure!!!
I have been running "old" (new 10yo sealed drums) hydraulic fluid in my deuce. I have tried running anything from 10% to 90% hydraulic fluid to diesel. I cut the hyd fluid with gas on the higher concentrates. The one thing that I have noticed is that she needs to be REAL warm to get going good...
Send all of the info you DO know along with the VIN to "2011 VIN info thread".
One of our members might be able to help you.
Welcome to SS and :cookoo::cookoo:OD addiction! :cookoo::cookoo: there is NO known cure!
Good luck!
Thats what I was thinking about doing 73, sorry I did not write it clearer.
I can't think of any reason for the option of supplying the engine with the 2nd tank, other than convenience.
Thanks for the reply.
As stated before, no cure, just meetings! At least your comptroller is on the bandwagon with you! You're LUCKY!
:ditto:
Glen, the more I read your post, the funnier it gets!
