What a great time we had. Three days of MV's, planes and people.
I think we will have two or three new members from this one show.
LOADS of fun.
It was still cold (57 degree) but the wind was low (5 - 10 mph) and the ceiling was much higher (6700 ft) so they all did their medium high show...
The day dawned cold (low fifties) and windy (15 mph) with low clouds.
The ceiling was 1400 ft. so most of the planes flew their 'low profile' shows
we looked pretty good and had LOTS of traffic - especially given the weather
tomorrow it is supposed to be clear and much warmer (mid/hi...
Well we did the air show setup today. We got eight trucks and two trailers to display.
I'll have pix on Sunday evening or Monday morning.
Looking forward to a great show. I hope the weather holds.
See you there.
Do an advanced search on 'electric fuel pump' here in the CUCV forum.
If you ADD an electric fuel pump, when you turn on the key, you will get 5/6 psi AT the fuel filter and won't NEED to crank your truck to bleed it.
been there, done that. easiest fix I've found for bleeding your fuel system.
I just went over to the Alliance airport today and picked up our parking passes and our ramp passes as well.
Then we toured the air show area. They will be moving the kids play area from the south portion of the ramp to the northern area of the ramp.
ALL the parents and their kids will...
I'll be happy to. Please let me wait until it stops raining. As soon as it stops, I'll take pix, front and rear axles, including front hubs.
As soon as it stops, I'll post pix.
Keith,
Congratulations, that's a great looking 5 ton.
Glad you FINALLY got the truck you wanted.
Now we just have to get it TO your place.
Let me know when you are going to do the recovery. I'll be there.
Again, CONGRATS
Mike,
You will get a chance on Saturday to look at it closely. I am very surprised/pleased at how it turned out.
The president of the MVCC that I was a member of in Colorado painted his C306 Volvo comm van with a 1/2" roller and it looked KILLER. He used Rapco.
I just thought I would try...
Actually I didn't know Rapco was that cheap. Bowie isn't around the corner, but definitely not a days drive. Call it an hour or perhaps a shade further from me.
But the Home Depot was 'around the corner' (sorta) and this IS an experiment. The roller worked great. I call it a three foot...
I have to add a couple of items.
first is there is a ground wire up under the dashboard, drivers side, up a bit, you have to look for it. MINE was connected, but the wire that was in the spade that is how it's connected to the vehicle was rotted and when I tried to pull the spade off the...
Warthog,
We will be at the Alliance Air Show next weekend. Drop down and take a first hand look. We will be on the north end of the ramp, across the eastern runway from the Thunderbirds and the Snowbirds. I'll have the dually there.
The BEHR paint (I used one gallon) cost me $25. I...
I used the Behr paint - house paint - with the codes I got here
Took me a couple of weeks, because I work slowly - I used a 6" x 1/2" close cell foam roller to apply it
I like the way it came out
this is a test for me to see how well it holds up and how I like it and the comments I receive...
It means about $500 ish for a new pump and what ever he will charge you to put it in.
Think of it like your 'carb' has gone south on a really old gas truck. Only the IP is the part that times and delivers the fuel to the correct cylinder.
Not too bad, because once it's replaced, it should be...
K9Vic,
Yeah it does look great. When I'm done rolling my M1028A2, I'll post up some pix.
It's actually come out better than I thought it would. You will see it at the Alliance air show in two weeks.
LOVE the look. May have to do my 1991 Burb the same. The wife wants me to use flat blue -...
That's a beautiful example of an M1009.
LOVE your interior. You did get a nice example.
Lights should be no problem. Perhaps a light bar up high? Will come in real handy in the land of "ALWAYS NIGHT OR ALWAYS BRIGHT"...
Welcome to the 'green iron disease'... You do know that these things...
My M1028A2 had an antenna cable run through the firewall. There IS a rubber grommet that it went through that some other cable goes through (speedo I think).
And the antenna was mounted on the front of the truck with an L shaped bracket that stuck up on the side of the hood without...
