I would love to convert my M931 to full S-cam assembly's.
My issue is drums still being inboard. Life is so much simpler when I don't have to pull hubs to to do brake work.
Are you using Type 30 short or long strokes chambers for the rear? I see you have manual slacks, Have you thought about...
I made some convoy lights this week.
I used 68" of 1.25" square tubing and some 7" round plates. Welded on some 2-7/8" exhaust clamps in the OEM positions. I picked up some Grote Strobe lights from my local truck parts house. After I replaced my batteries with 2 8D ones I wired in a complete...
So this week I gots lots of fun things happening. Oil filter base adapter (if it shows up in the mail), paint touchups and a fuel filter base mod. The new base is a Fleetguard 142784S with a LF1212 filter. My question is I know the filter base side is 7/8-14 or -10AN ORB, the truck fuel lines...
Looks like that new leak is from the exhaust port of the fan-stat valve. Again, mine started leaking out the exhaust port about 2 weeks ago and I've replaced that too.
Mine did this too with the original air dryer. May need a punch/soft hammer to pop back up but mine went up with just a finger's push. Replaced it with a bendix AD-9 with 24v heater
Always carry them in the cab or whatever. Eventually the corrosion (if the bolt is left in the pot) with crack and spread apart and will like mentioned above and corrode away.
I'm sure you could plug it. If you ever remove your injection pump and have to install it again it's nice to be able to pin #1 to TDC for proper timing. It's that or remove the valve cover and see both valves closed at #1.
I called them. They can make me (2) 13" wide budd wheels that have -10 offset that'll rock the Bridgestone L315 tires i want in 425/65R22.5. All for cheaper then the buying military setup. Thanks so much.
Whoops! Maybe I sounded wrong there I'm not putting those tires on the current split rim wheels I have on now for the 11.00x20's. I don't know what the new 5 ton 2 piece bolt together wheels are called. I was hoping to put those on the 14.5's but if I can't then I think I'm in trouble lol. I...
Can the 2 piece combat wheel for the 5 ton seat properly a 14.5R20 Michelin? Thinking about running these for my steers and keeping the duals. If so I can get these local but wanted to make sure they'll work together as I've read here about alot of tire/wheel combos that aren't proper for each...
I need that flowchart as well. Since I bought my truck the fail safe has been unplugged, when I plugged it back in the park brake light/buzzer stay on (even with the PB off). The low air light works correctly.
I replaced my fan-stat valve a couple days ago with a civilian version made from Haldex, it was leaking air constantly through the exhaust port. It's a bit longer then the military one but opens at 185*, the end is adjustable and if you turn it in it supposed to raise the temp by increments of...
Typically, these diesel engines don't get all that warm running empty/idling.
When I'm bob tailing my 931' it doesn't warm up fast until I hit a hill and put the load on or pulling a heavy trailer. Most fan-stats are tripped at 210* and it's good to see yours works.
If your getting 200* idling...
I put 3 light trio on my truck. They are Grote LED's and they face forward like the HMMVW do. I spliced power on the back of the light switch off the service circuit IIRC and grounded them at the lights themselves
