M56782 may be the vehicle SN. Don't know if they were called VINs back then. If that is the SN that would make it a late production Studebaker. The number might just be too high. Most of the Studes I've owered started with M3*****
I did the 255s because they were an inch skinnier, a fraction of an inch taller and mostly because they were load range E. The ford rims look like the stockers but were 7" wide. The M1010 is really cramped in the rear fenderwells.
I set up a guy to tow home an RV trailer with an M109A3. I ended up bolting a pair of composite lights to the bumper and patched together a harness. Switching bulbs or magnetic lights seems like the easiest solution.
Put 255s on my M1010 last year but they are on 7" rims. Nice and beefy.
