Ok I'll see what I can do. I have a questions though. I tested both alternator stators and they check out (continuity between the three tabs but not to the case). I checked the rotors though, and I get differing values. The driver side rotor has continuity between the two slip rings, but not...
I have been using a large socket to go around the place that holds the bearing in when I punched it out. I will do the same when I install it. Should I put a light oil on the bearing outside to ease it in?

Haha the predicaments we face in life.....how about both! I must say, as much as Corvette's are my favorite, it would be bada** to have a deuce there. My Vette and M1028 are gonna be there, but the more of both, the better lol

Alright sounds good. Tomorrow the Alts will be done and I'm also putting new Energy Suspension sway bar bushings in and new Monroe gas magnum shocks and steering stabilizer. This truck is gonna be set once I'm done with it!

I got the rebuild kits and it has a sealed bearing for the front and a normal bearing for the back. The rear bearing has some green grease in it. Should I shoot a shot or two from my pneumatic grease gun into it? I use Valvoline synthetic grease with moly.

That is awesome! My senior prom is in a few weeks and if I cant get the Corvette done, the M1028 is definitely the #2 vehicle of choice, if I can convince my date!

Haha thanks. Yeah I still have to put up a "new owner" post, but I want to get the truck on the road and looking sort of good first. The truck is a 1986 M1028 that was a department of forestry truck. It is very rust free and very well maintained.
I'm just waiting to get the alternator rebuild...
Wow thanks a lot! Looks good. I actually have one of those magnets, I'll throw it on there when I do the oil change. I got the new drain plug washer/gasket today.
Will
.....Hmmmm there is already a magnetic plug in it? I just got this truck and this is my first oil change on it (I havent done it yet due to NJ's "excellent" weather  ). I didnt know that, I guess you do learn something every day!
I'll check the TM (which I read like half of the other...
Real quick, two things.
On my M1028, what is the oil drain plug torque? And I'd like to install a magnetic drain plug. Is this the correct one for the truck?

I'm doing an oil change and...
Hmm yeah I suppose but the PO didnt really own it for long or do anything with it/to it. It went from the military to service as a brush truck owned by like the department of forestry or something like that. So there were no bubba's in its past, but maybe a mechanic from either the military or...
Ok so I referenced the thread that was posted by DriverSideImpact1008, and the one that the OP in that thread matches this one:
BK 7303731 Napa part number
Is this the right one for my truck?
I'll use silicon to attach it, and I'll use the rearview mirror stuff for that.

Dang it..... My dad literally said he closed the door and watched the passenger side mirror glass plummet to its doom. It seems that the adhesive failed due to age.
Where can I get a new mirror glass for the passenger side? And what do I use to secure it to the mount?
Also, my rearview...
Ok so heres the deal. I got the top two bolts in (only 1 was missing there), and I got both passenger side bolts in and torqued (none were missing here originally the hole wasnt actually stripped). So I have 4/6 Bolts in. Good enough for now (Especially since it was probably like that for a...
OK so the two driver side bottom holes have bolts broken off in them, the side one seems to be stripped, and there is only 1 on the top and one on the passenger side. I attempted to put on in the top, but it bottoms out. Is a 1 1/2 inch long bolt too long? That is what I took out of the...
The bolt is a 3/8-16 and it's 1 1/2 inches long. It is actually a tad larger than the one I took out. I'm going to go take another look at it and see If I can see any problems in the thread/hole.
