You can blow out any tire! I have run military tires on my M105's and trucks for years with no unusual problems with failures. The biggest complaint I would have is they wear quickly on the fronts of the military trucks. If military tread is used on a civilian over the road type truck at high...
All of our engines are turned up, with no resulting knocks or other problems when they are driven with good sense. The turned up fuel is NOT the problem. We have one engine that if we do not run the flame pre-heat regularly, it gets air in the lines and one cylinder wants to make a knock sound...
I had a hard pedal problem like you describe on another truck. If you take the cap off the master cylinder and if necessary to see the bottom of the reservoir, draw the fluid out of it with a suction device. Then you will see a pair of holes in the floor of the reservoir, a larger one to the...
I had a problem with my M51A2 with the brake pedal being hard, right at the top after a few brake applications. The brakes were dragging, building heat in the drums. I had replaced a stuck master cylinder with one that seemed good off a parts truck. I had disassembled it and cleaned it before...
Many of ours had a chain thrown around the middle section, then yanked on, bending the middle of the bumper. Some also got hits on the ends like yours. Seems they do not know what tow shackles are for!!

John:
Check out the poppet valve on the transmission cover. This valve is apparently not sealing right to properly shift your transfer. You will find deep grooves in the face material, which, when too deep, interferes with the sealing of the poppet. I have taken them apart, carefully removed...
We had one blown out the back of the block/head interface. When we were running an engine test in a container, we put a heat gun on the area back there and found it heats up very quickly initially at the joint line as the motor warms up. It then tends to normalize. The lesson here is to not push...
Mark:
Here are the specifications out of my Society of Automotive Engineers manual. Most used on these trucks are the 1/8" pipe thread types. They are available in straight and different angles for access in their location. Hope this helps!
Regards Marti
Bear in mind that the transfer case does not have a high/low. High/low was done by the big cone clutch unit at the rear of the transmission, not in the transfer case.

I had the hard pedal problem with my dump truck. I found that bleeding air out of the air pack bleeder at the top of the air/hydraulic valve on it solved the problem. The air pack has two bleeders, one at the end of the brake cylinder and one at the top, on the air/hydraulic valve. Check them...
We had this problem on a deuce. We found that whoever put the light on the right fender had replaced the mudguard box under the fender and trapped a wire between the mudguard box and the fender. The wire insulation finally got squashed out enough to short the wire, and the a blown flasher was...
The tanks we have do not have drains. WE removed the tanks and cleaned them out. To my knowledge they are all plastic.
There is a screen on the end of the fuel pick up that can be varnished by old fuel to the point it is not going to work right. With the tank out, you can check out this...
Welcome to a good bunch of guys. We are not too far apart with me being close to Warsaw; I have flown into Kendallville airport numerous times.
Take care, enjoy! Marti
I have not had to install a set, so I cannot comment that way. Looking at the pictures, about everything looks longer. Is it possible the set was for a long wheelbase truck? We exhaust many trucks down toward the ground from the muffler with no problems, just so it is not blowing on the rear...
We have spent several weeks at getting this dump truck assembled from parts and running. The pictures show the dump truck and a donor truck beside it with my home-made tow bar on it. The dump truck was bought about seven years ago, missing the engine, transmission, and front grille, radiator...
We have been running our M543A2 for years with the lift pump shut off in normal driving conditions. I do not use the right hand tank on the truck, so we put the in-tank lift pump on the transfer pump switch. We turn it on for starting, especially in winter, changing filters, and really high...
Bjorn: Hello!
Can you find a zinc plating facility in your area? They can clean the rust off the chains in a bath, then plate them with zinc plating for you. They might recommend "barrel" plating them instead of rack plating them to get better coverage. The zinc plating will keep them looking...
We had a leak problem on one of our dueces. We had switched the center bolts and cans unknowingly when we re-installed them. We tightened to spec, but developed a leak. We found the center "bolt" was bottoming in the threads in the filter base. We ground some off the bottom of the bolt and the...
