Why would you think this? A gear reduction starter doesn't work nearly is hard, therefore should be LESS prone to overheat. There is a reason that GM switched to the gear reduction on all the 6.5 engines.

The power windows are MUCH more prone to failure... How much fumes do you get back in that window? with the exhaust design on the 1009, an open back window usually ends up having diesel fumes in the passenger area....
