They would be located on the passenger side of the engine. One right above the alternator and the other above it near the top of the block. Follow the hoses from the heater and you will find them.
You could smell that block of cheese from about 20 feet away. Had to hold the bourbon up to my nose so I could smell something other than it. I still can't believe you ate that stuff.
What you say makes a lot of sense. From the operator's point of view I can see how it would be easier to drive. From the technician's point of view these things are a PITA. My guess the "cost of maintenance" is why they are getting rid of them faster than planned as per the plans they wanted...
Your 16000# is close to actual vehicle weight depending on configuration but don't you have to register off of GVWR which would be just shy of 26000#'s? Maybe you can license lower weight but then if you so much as have lunch in the cab with you're overweight.

This may be way out there but if your FDC isn't bypassed I wonder if it is going bad causing the major power fluctuations. That is the purpose of the FDC in the first place.....adjust power based of fuel viscosity.
Mine got kicked out of town for an ordance of almost the exact same wording. Basically it was to keep guys from parking their semi's in town and making the town "look bad".

Fuel gauge showed half a tank last night when I got here, checked this morning and I still have fuel A couple inches up on the strainer. Used the cruise control at wide open all the way over. Made two stops on the way and still averaged 50 mph.
